Butlin's Holiday Camp 1982

I hoped for something similar to Martin Parr's 'The Last Resort' in terms of size so was disappointed despite enjoying the photos in the book (I was actually taken to Butlins in 1982 by my parents when I was 4). An essay about working-class holiday making would also have been good.

An unfiltered look at Butlins in the 80s. To anyone that never went to butlins during this time it looks depressing, but to those who went we know it was far from a it. These pictures really capture the British making the most out of a fantastic holiday during a wet week. Brought back tons of memories. The what looks like a boring photo is far from it... It speaks volumes about how we were back then. A brilliant coffee table book, nicly presented in hardback and a fabric spine.

Not John Hinde's oversaturated joy, but delightful none the less.
