Used these mats for blocking several knitted items. They are ideal and very sturdy when put together so easy to move if necessary. The thickness of the mats means that the pins do not go through to scratch any surfaces.

I have used these several times now to pin out various things for blocking after crocheting them. I ordered a total of 4 packs so that I could make decent size blankets for some of my relatives, however although the gridlines in the individual packs would line up with each other, once you tried adding in some from another pack they didn't have a consistent line with those already in place. This was annoying considering that I wanted to ensure that the tops were the same width as the bottom as well the sides being equidistant from each other, hence buying several packs. All the mats were the same size as each other no matter which pack I took them out of, the bugbear to me was the failure of all packs to have the gridlines in exactly the same place to each other. If all gridlines had matched each other regardless of which pack I took them from, I would have given 5 stars.

Comes with pins which is v useful, and the pieces fit nicely, about an inch or so thick so great for blocking. The foam pieces also have a 1x1" grid drawing which made blocking tension squares really straightforward - a must-have product for knitters.

I'm so happy I finally bought proper blocking mats. I was using very thin, dollar store play mats that have curled so much from steam blocking. The gridlines are so helpful, and I love sticking the pins in and not thinking about the ends poking through and scratching things (and love the pins it comes with!). And they're very sturdy, I was able to pin the front and back of a shirt, using all 9 mats, on my fairly small kitchen island, then carry the whole thing to my living room to get it out of the way while it dries. Only 4 stars because some of the lines don't actually match up when the squares are attached, and for foam mats, the price could be better (but I don't regret the purchase!).

These are advertsised as 12 by 12 inches, but they only measure 10 by 10. I bought these for a specific project where I needed 12 by 12 inch so I could block four squares at the same time, one on each section on the blocking mat. But now I'm having to block one square at a time because it's not the size it's advertised as.

I was happy with these mats when they arrived, however when I tried to slot all the mats together for a baby blanket it turns out 5 of the boards are printed on a different side to the other 4. The only way I can slot them together I lose the grid lines which is no good. The grid lines are a bit "messy" on some boards but i could put up with that. I also noticed some boards already had holes in so may have been previously used. It's a shame as the boards are thick and sturdy when put together but I'm afraid I will be sending them back
