A Hundred Billion Trillion Stars

Beautiful Book for Teachers and Parents to Own!
I love reading books and I'm so happy that my five-year-old twins do too! They are in 4K now so I've gotten to see some of the books that are used in schools. I also love helping to provide new and interesting books to my kids' teachers because books have the power to engage interests and teach kids new things. I saw something that said this book would be great for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) classrooms which is what our school is. I ended up buying three copies, one to keep at home and two for my kids' teachers!A Hundred Billion Trillion Stars by Seth Fishman is a beautiful, hardcover picture book that shows kids how big our world really is and encourages them to use their imaginations. For example, one page tells us why the earth is blue and green and how many gallons of water and trees cover the Earth. There are many large numbers and those numbers are also written out in words so you can more easily read it to your kids or students without having to stop and take a lot of time to figure it out (before the kids lose interest!). It has about 33 pages in the story, beautiful words, and colorful illustrations. We got our three copies and my kids were excited to give their teachers the books too! The teachers were thrilled because new books are always exciting for both the kids and teachers. I know for a fact they used the books for their math units. We've read it at home and we enjoy talking about how big the numbers are. This book is great for teachers to have in their classrooms and parents to have at home! It's a beautiful book that's great for the preschool and older crowd. I highly recommend it!

Kid & Parent approved!
My kiddos and I love it. I bought it as a Christmas gift to go along with the starter telescope I bought as a family Christmas gift.I love that the numbers are written out in words as well on each page, because otherwise I’d have no idea what most of them are or how to say them. So many zeros!!!My kids (5.5 & 8.5) love books like this. Reading about the incredible amount of things, it really sparks their interest and gets their brains going picturing how crazy it is that there can be so many of something.I feel the book has the right amount of details to be interesting and actually keep my kids attention (they love it when I read the crazy big numbers, and the first time I read it asked if those were even real or if the author just made them up, lol!) but not SO detailed or drawn out that I dread reading it. My kids really like the illustrations as well.If your kids (or whatever child you are buying for) are interested in these kinds of things, I would definitely recommend it.

Instant Classic
There are certain books for children that are just... classics.Goodnight Moon. The Very Hungry Caterpillar.Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?Where the Wild Things AreDr. Suess booksCurious George booksBerenstain Bears booksEtcetera, etcetera. My five-year-old and two-and-a-half-year-old both love this book, and I don't get tired of reading it like I do with many other bedtime books.Kids have these brains that are absorbing massive amounts of information, processing language and numbers, and developing perspectives on their place in the world and the universe. This book helps kids understand truly gigantic numbers. It's fascinating to ponder these big numbers in terms that are accessible to real people. The illustrations are also incredible. Definitely recommended!

Fantastic for all ages!
This is a creative, engaging book that can definitely grow with your child! My 2.5 year old laughs at the "big numbers" and enjoys describing the pictures; I can imagine as she grows older and can better understand concepts like distance, weight, etc. that she will discover new things to enjoy about the book, too. The last page, after the story, explains estimations and is quite interesting to adults and budding scientists or mathematicians alike! The illustrations are beautiful, engaging and diverse, which is much appreciated. All in all, it's a wonderful, timeless book that is sure to become a favorite.

The art is amazing (and actually sort of inspiring)
Buy this book. My child is almost disturbingly addicted to it, and has been since the day it arrived- but what's more important is that I have 0 problems reading it to upwards of 6 times a day. The art is amazing (and actually sort of inspiring), and the content is something that you can never really get bored with if you're actually thinking about it's grandness. While I grew up demanding rereads of a dog, who apparently should "go", this generation of kids will grow up with a sense of wonder and astonishment at the world around them. It's an absolute win for everyone. Buy this book.

A whimsical jaunt into the realm of possibility that will encourage kids to expand their horizons and open their eyes to the greatness and wonder all around them. The title of the book would be an apt description of my rating--darn you, Amazon, for limiting us to a piddling 5 stars!

This is one of my favorite books to read to my 3yr old
This is one of my favorite books to read to my 3yr old. It’s fun and interesting for both children and adults! I love how the book writes-out the long numbers for you (I’d butcher them otherwise)!
