Not for indoor range use
I had high hopes for these with all the great reviews online. All my range time is spent indoors and with the mediocre lighting that most indoor ranges have these are completely useless. I can see a normal bright white dot better than these. If I sit in the dark at home, I can see them just fine (Not where I shoot lol). Outside they glow pretty nicely but indoors? forget it.

Does TFX stand for "They're Freakin' eXcellent"?!?
So far have I am very please with these sights. I previously had a set of TFO sights on an M&P Shield, and I really liked those, and I had planned on installing them on my Springfield Armory XDS as well, but came across the newer TFX sights. I liked the white ringed front sight and the daytime appearance of it, similar to a Trijicon sight. However, the TFX sights have the added bonus of the fiber optic light gathering daytime feature, which the bright it is outside the brighter they are! Best of both worlds...daytime and nighttime. Now a few thoughts on the TFO vs TFX regarding choices/color:1) TFO - is available in all green (front & rear), and in yellow rear/green front.2) TFX - as far as I see, the TFX currently available in all green, but keep in mind front white ring for substantial daytime contrast.3) My previous TFO sights were all green. If I was to purchase those I was definitely going to try the yellow/green. My understanding is that the yellow is not as bright, which makes the focus on the brighter green front sight (due to both brightness and obviously color contrast!)4) My new TFX with the white ring really is nice during the daytime…best I have seen to date. Night time - since they are both green there is no contrast. I wish I still had my TFO for brightness comparison, because I feel like the encapsulated TFX illuminated capsules might not be quite as bright as the TFO, but that is just my perception.5) Either set of sights I feel are very worth the investment. I even plan on putting the original stock XDS fiber front sight onto another XD (the XDS rear sight looks like it wouldn't swap over to an XD without modification.)INSTALLATION: I actually took the leap to install them myself which worked out quite well…purchasing a sight pusher from Fisher Solutions Sight Pusher XL (has multiple blocks for various handguns.) Worked very well and I can make my own adjustments if needed. Otherwise you can have a gunsmith professionally install them. For just over the cost of an install, I purchased the Sight Pusher XL and will be able to do more in the future.Bottom line…excellent investment. Look at the key differences in the Tru-glo sights and other competitors and see where your particular priorities are. If budget is an issue don't sweat it...the lower cost of the TFO is a plus. I think either way you will be very happy with the TFX (or the TFO)!

Truglow Perfection!
Exactly what I needed. Must have a sight pusher to make installation easy!

For those who want the best of both worlds
Work great! I didn't like having to choose between fiber optics (which work well in lighter conditions) or tritium (which glow in the dark). While doing research, I stumbled across TFX sights, and after reading some reviews I pulled the trigger and bought them on Amazon. After having a local gunsmith install them, I've used them for about three months now. I've put about 1,000 rounds through since installation without any problems. Outside in the sun the fiber optics pick up ambient light and glow enough to make a great sight picture. At night I can see three glowing dots sitting on my nightstand (bright enough for use but don't keep you up). In dusk-like lighting, the white dot on the front sight is plenty. These are great sights for people who want the best of both worlds. I'll update if any problems arise, but they've done a wonderful job so far

ehhhhh 4/5
Rear sight sits approximately 1mm higher then the front sight. This causes you to have to raise the muzzle up with your grip to compensate. Physically they work great but I really hate having to compensate otherwise my shots are low. Had the sights professionally installed at a credible gun shop. Sights were aligned and checked with a micrometer as well. At the end of the day you have to cut the front sight in half with your sight picture. This may be common with other firearms as well but personally I hate it. Considering pulling the rear sight and grinding the bottom down slightly to adjust. Would buy again but would do more research/measuring first

Shoots low for XDS but fine for XDM (out of the box). I made some modifications for the XDS.
I bought this for my XDS 3.3 45 ACP but like another reviewer it shoots low about 5 inches from the aim point at 20 feet. Because the front sight is so long, on such a short gun you tend to angle the gun down when you level out the front sight with the rear ones. I switched them to my XDM 4.5" 9 mm and it shoots fine. The white outline on the front sight TFX is easier to pick out than on the TFO sights. I wished these worked for the the XDS, they look much cooler than the vanilla Truglo tritium sights I wanted to replace.Update: I measured the front sight thickness of the XDS & TFX front sight dovetails with calipers. The TFX was thicker. I removed about 0.02" from the bottom of the front sight. Also I bent the end of the TFX down slightly since it was hovering above the slide. I put the XDS back in the pistol shooting rest and it was dead on from 50 ft out.

XDM Compact
These sights are fantastic. Great visibility in direct sunlight and the sight picture in the dark is perfect. I saw someone write that these do not work on the XDM Compact. They fit on mine just fine. Personally I like the sight picture on these better than the TFX Pro. The only reason I'm taking a star away is because cosmetically they are not great looking sights. I don't care for the gap between the sight and the slide but that's just me.

Shining star
These sights are amazing! They are so bright in the day...and night. The combination of the tritium and fiber optic is a marriage made in heaven. They gather so much light in the day and shine very bright. At night, or in the dark, they give just enough light to get a clear sight picture with all 3 points on the sights. If you are contemplating changing the factory sights on your firearm, I highly recommend these as a great replacement. Also, they still allow your firearm to fit in a regular holster without worrying about the size of the sights.
