Why You Lose at Chess (Fred Reinfeld Chess Classics)

Shockingly Entertaining!
It never once occurred to me to pick up a chess book because I thought it would be hilarious and entertaining. This Reinfeld book shocked me. I'm reading chapter #1 and laughing so hard, the tears in my eyes frustrate my desire to continue! Reinfeld pokes fun at great players like Alekhine, Nimzowitch, and Gruenfeld, but saves no favor for the amateur... His brutal analysis and witty style are too much to handle. I love this man now!

Easy read Basic Chess
This is one of my favorite chess books. I read it a long time ago and just wanted to have a fresh copy in my collection. If you like chess and need a user friendly chess book to read. This one is it.

Pretty Much Me
I found this book, on a used book shelf, at the University of Chicago bookstore in 1984. F. Reinfeld exposes the mistakes I was making, and still make, in my games of chess. If you play chess, and struggle, pick this up.

The lighter side of a serious game
Very engaging presentation, as the author talks about serious chess concepts while presenting them in an often humorous manner. Definitely some fresh ideas here about how to approach the game, particularly knowing yourself and how your personality can influence decisions over the board.
