Russell Westbrook: The Inspiring Story of One of Basketball's Premier Point Guards (Basketball Biography Books)

The author of the book did a great job writing about Russel’s career
In the book Russel starts his career at UCLA. He was a bench warmer but his teammate got injured so Russel got to play. He was drafted to the Seattle Supersonics in the 2008 draft. The Supersonics later changed their name to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Russel and Kevin Durant were unstoppable. They made it to the conference finals two times. Kevin and Russel still both never won a ring. The author of the book did a great job writing about Russel’s career. He wrote about every big event that happened in his career. The author did a good job conveying the theme throughout the book. The theme of the book is to chase your dreams because Russel started as a small player ‘’He stood at just 5’8’’ and he evolved into a great player ‘’he finished high school at 6’3’’. He became one of the best point guards in the NBA. The author also put a lot of imagery in the book describing the scene. He also used dialogue in this book saying what he needed to improve which made the imagery amazing in this book. I believe this book is very inspiring because he started as a bench warmer in college and became one of the best point guards in the NBA. After you read this book you will be inspired to chase your dreams and do what you really want to do. You will also believe that dreams come true.

This book covers all the bases!
How did Russell Westbrook go from a kid who “could not shoot a lick” to being considered one of the best point guards in basketball history? This extensive, unauthorized biography of Westbrook’s life covers all the bases from childhood to present day. The author goes into detail of Westbrook’s high school and college years playing basketball and all the trials he went through to become an amazing team player. There are chapters on Westbrook’s personal life, his impact on basketball and his legacy and future. What struck me is that Westbrook wears a wristband that reads, “Why not?” Why not, indeed?
