1001 Things to spot in Fairyland Hardcover – 28 Oct. 2005

I bought this for my daughter last Christmas but she's only recently just started to get into it (she's about to turn 4).The pictures are bright and colourful and you have different objects to find plus the amount of each to find. Each two pages has a new fairy theme (e.g. Fairyland Workshop, Treetop Fairies, Fairy School, Secret Garden, The Snow Queen's Ball, etc) so it doesn't get repetitive. It is very good for getting children to spot things, for learning new vocabulary (which sticks as it is visual) and for learning and identifying the numbers 1-10.What I also like is that the numbers don't necessarily go in order. For example: on the Secret Garden pages you look for "6 pink flower fairies" first then "10 dandelion clocks", etc, so children really learn to identify their numbers.Another great book from Usborne!

Bought this for my daughter 3yrs at the time... I thought it might have been to hard for her but she has not put the book down, she takes it everywhere..It was definatly not too hard she would sit down and not move till she found them... Fantastic book by Usbourne. My son 6 has got other books from this range and she is used to watching him so she was overmoon to have her own. Everytime my kids pick it up its like the first time they read it..I would def recomend this book to everyone reading this review..would make a lovely gift...beautifully illustrated x

We were given this as a present when my eldest daughter was 4. She loved it! She's now 5.5 and my 3 year old is just beginning to discover this book and how it works. The older one also joins in and although she finds the counting aspect easy now, she enjoys the challenge of actually finding the different fairies, their animals, and the magical objects. It's a great book and has many levels. Once each page has been done, you then have to go back through the book and find all the objects one particular fairy needs to take to school! So in a Where's Wally kind of ethos, the book works hard to entertain your children. We have subsequently bought this as a gift several times - and the other Usborne 1001 Things to Spot (Pirates and Knights) for boys and girls - and they've gone down very well. Good for car journeys too!

This is a fantastic book suitable for children aged 2-8 years, in my opinion.Our three year old daughter LOVES reading this book. This very well illustrated book really does provide hours of fun for the whole family.Highly recommended!

This has been a best gift. Father Christmas left it a few years ago and it is still regularly looked at at home, in the car, when camping, to restaurants, we take it anywhere where we may need the kids to sit still for a while!

I absolutely love this book for my kiddos! It works not only for kids that can read, but has pictures showing what to find for those who can’t read yet. It’s like a more fairy based where’s Waldo suitable for so many ages!

A nice alternative to the Where's Waldo books, absolutely perfect for the young princess in your life! Usborne books never fail to impress with their colourful pictures, and imagination!
