Base is sturdy. However I was disappointed with the top. The rail is not sturdy as in photograph this easily comes to pieces, and with a 3year old swinging the top around is also a liability for someone’s eye! Otherwise the extras are lovely quality wood. Little Chef in the making…..Mellissa & Doug make some really good educational products for children and this is brilliant.We have a kitchen that we got from Ikea but it takes up a lot of space.This will allow you to place on top of a table or a storage box/unit.The cooker top looks like a real cookerMy little boy likes playing with this kitchen, he likes to take orders. He brings over the menu and you tell him what you want. Then he’ll cook you the food. He has an apron which isn’t included and he puts it on.This set has nineteen pieces and each part of the product is well made. I personally prefer wooden toys. The food is double sided one side is cooked and the other is cooked. This helps you’re little give you cooked food and may look like what they get to eat. The ring burners are removable and the knobs turn so your little one can turn up the heat.This is perfect for lone play or together with a peer or an adult. It will help with the child’s imagination; develop confidence and strength hand eye co-ordination.The frying pan and Saucepan are really good and my little one likes to take the lid on and off use the spoon and stir. It’s been well thought out for little ones in mind. I can’t find fault with the product.This is great if you don’t have a lot of space you and your child will get lots of enjoyment from this. We have a tea set so when we have egg and bacon for breakfast he will make me a of tea and some toast to go with it.Great as a stand alone or used with other products.Winner for me and at a good price.5 Stars

We love Melissa and Doug toys, we've always been a big fan of wooden, more traditional toys and this set is brilliant and amazing quality as always.The oven itself can be used on a table like a hob top or on the floor like a BBQ. It's mainly wooden except for the pans themselves. But the attention to detail is absolutely brilliant - my favourite part is that the items of food are double sided, which one side showing the raw food and the other side showing it cooked and grilled - it's such a brilliant idea that i've never seen before with play food and we own a lot of it!My children all love playing with this set, they feel like they're actually cooking and constantly love to 'impress us' that the food goes on raw then comes out 'cooked' when they flip it over - it really is great and shows them the idea of cooking food and seeing how it should look when it's done. Gorgeous set, beautiful quality, another perfect product from Melissa and Doug! Couldn't recommend more.

In this “use less plastic” world that we currently reside in, this is a welcome kit to have for your kids. So many of my toys when I was young were plastic, that we never really considered until now. While there is some plastic in this, the majority is wooden.This is a great durable kit, and an educational toy at the same time. First of all, it is easy to put together. No batteries required, and each piece slots into place easily - making a quick construction for birthday/Christmas mornings. It’s nice and colourful, and although the pans are plastic, the rest is wooden and a nice size for little hands to grasp.The food is double sided, meaning you can teach your child(ren) the art of cooking, as one side shows the food as it would be raw, and the flip side shows it cooked.This is also set up, so it can be used on the tabletop/desk, which means the items/mess can be contained to there, rather than being spread about your floor. It can also be incorporated with other kitchen sets, to give your child(ren) more scope for the imagination.A little on the expensive side but is quite durable so should last a long time.

I have tested a lot of wooden toys on this site. Usually from a different company Le Toy Van. And these toys are up there with the same level of quality.This set is a lovely little set. At £43 it is not a cheap product. But you are going to get a top quality product with excellent finish and guaranteed it will last a very long time.The level of detail is brilliant. All of the utensils and food are really fun, and the little ones love them.It is fairly large in size and sturdy so you are good for putting it on top of a shelf or a table without fear of it being dragged off.Some of the features19-piece set with wooden food items.Includes pot, pan, fitted lid, spoon, and spatula.The double-sided food pieces show one side uncooked and the other cooked. This is genius and creates good understanding for children on cooking.Such a great set. I love it. So do the nieces who play with it daily.5*
