worth the price - heavy duty and easy to clean
This bucket is fantastic. The huge size is perfect for my little farm with sheep and a cuddle donkey We had multiple days of subzero temps and the water stayed thawed and accessible. Easy to use.

Keeps horse drinking in Winter avoid colic
My horse colicked because she would not drink enough water. Her water was very cold. She gets cold easy no matter how much hay she has. This is bigger than most heated buckets but I wish it was bigger. This was very helpful in getting her to drink and stay healthy.

Keeps the water warm
I've always had the blue buckets before and since I use them in their stalls I prefer a a lightly small bucket. However these buckets are slightly more narrow but deeper. They have a grate covering the heaters. Extremely attractive and hold the same amount of water. For the price I do not regret purchasing them.

Thermostat failure and freeze cracked
Have 6-8 heated buckets, with the two that failed bought within the last 4 months. Froze solid in minus temperatures, apparently thawed a bit, cracked the bottoms where the heating element is, and kept tripping the circuit breaker to all the other buckets. A huge pain with minus temps and 2ft of snow. Customer Service requests sending units back (my cost) for testing, even though I sent pics of failure point's. Looks like another hundred buck lesson learned, and stick with the other brand. Not even usable as a regular bucket .. maybe for dry feed or a garden pot.

Works as Expected, has a metallic smell
In short, I would buy this again. Works as expected. I use it with an extension cord. I know the Amazon listing says not to but the manufacturer says you can on their website. You just have to make sure you're using the appropriate gauge cord to ensure appropriate power to the heating element. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because the heating element gives the water a metallic smell. My horses prefer the non heated bucket and will really only drink out of this heated one when the other is frozen or if I've just refilled it with fresh water. But it does it's job, and I'm relieved to know that they do have accessible water when it's below freezing.

Works Great!
Delivery was delayed on this heated water tub, but fortunately it did arrive before the next freeze. I needed a solution for a horse who would surely play with the floating tank de-icer I was using in the hundred gallon tank, now that he has access to it with a stabling change. Also, cleaning the hundred gallon tank with only one horse is not very sustainable. This tub fixed both issues. The heating element is enclosed in plastic at the bottom and if you keep it full or close to it, your horse won't even be able to reach the "cage". The cord comes out the bottom and for my situation, was easy to route outside the paddock, so my horse can't reach it. This is not quite as big as a traditional hard plastic muck tub, so doesn't hold quite as much water. I would like it to be a bit larger. However, it's pretty easy to see how much water your horse is consuming , which is important to monitor. It's easy to clean, and will definitely get cleaned more frequently because of that. No more wasting water from a dirty large tank! I only plug it in when temps are near freezing, but when I've needed the element, it works. I will store this once winter is over, and hope that with good care, it will last many years.
