Pulsar by Seiko Holdings Corporation. A spectacular breakthrough Pulsar was born in an age of optimism. In the 1970's, everything seemed achievable through the rapidly growing technological expertise at the world's fingertips. Space flight had been converted from dream to reality, computer science was developing at break neck speed and electronics seemed to deliver new advances every day. Pulsar symbolized the age. It was new and it was bold, it was surprising and it was different. Pulsar, the world's first electronic digital watch, created a sensation when it was unveiled in New York in 1972 and it changed the world's perception of time. A tradition of difference When the brand was taken into the Seiko Corporation in 1980, it brought further surprises to the world; the first calculator watch in 1980 and the first all-quartz watch line in 1981 were among its industry-leading achievements. And throughout the '80's and 90's Pulsar continued to bring to market new products that were born to be different. The Avant-garde collection in 1980's set a new style in women's watches and Spoon in 1990's were unique designs which further cemented Pulsar's image as an ingenious and surprising watchmaker. Towards a modernist future Today, Pulsar remains loyal to its heritage. It was born to be different and it will remain so. Each Pulsar watch has the hint of the futurism and modernity that have always been its hallmark. Pulsar is a brand for the individual who appreciates real value and seeks quality with individuality and flair. Introducing the new Pulsar Solar Chronograph. Unfreakingbelievable
This is such a nice watch and for the money is truly unreal. It has a much nicer bracelet than some of my more costly watches. This is a solid watch and is IMO a perfect size. well get off the fence and buy it!

Unbelievable value for a gorgeous watch that comes from the Seiko family!
For those that don't know, Pulsar watches are a division of Seiko and have a lot of the same tech or "guts" in them. Getting a handsome, large-face watch that is SOLAR POWERED (like the Citizen Eco-drive models) for under sixty bucks is unreal. I couldn't be happier with it. It's attractive, easy to read, and I'll never have to mess around with having to replace batteries. The one thing I would point out is that as other reviewers have mentioned, the watch doesn't have the vivid royal blue face that is depicted on the primary product photo. It's a more muted, darker navy blue kind of color. It's still lovely. I think you should have one too.

illumination is not as bright as pictured
I am a recent purchaser, so a long-time review is out of the question. This seems to keep good time and all dials are functional. So, far seems to charge well even in lower light levels. However, the night illumination seen in these customer photos are from a watch boosted by a bright light before the photo was taken. The actual lighting is readable in very dark light, but does not retain quick readability very long. There is no magnifier for the date box and I am still looking for the matching serial number on the band. BUT, for the price this is a sweet deal.

Solid, well built watch!
When the watch arrived I quickly noticed that the bright blue dial as advertised is actually a little duller blue but it's still awesome. A quick charge while wearing it was all it needed to get going. I took off two links and it fits well. The bands don't snag my wrist hair and it's a solid, comfortable to wear watch with a nice weight to it. It keeps precise time and all functions work well. One thing I didn't expect was that the numbers apart from the hands glow in the dark as I had originally thought that it only the markers did but that's definitely a plus for me because lume is of utmost importance to me. For those of you wanting to start a watch collection this is definitely a must have timepiece to put into it. I will recommend this watch to anyone it's beautiful!.

Great watch for the price
This is a good looking, accurate, solid watch for the price. Heavy on features with solar power, good luminescence, and 100m water resistance. The color is nice, but it often appears darker depending on angle and whether there is direct light or not. This may be because of the Solar Dial. My only complaint is the useless 24hr dial, but this is common to all Japanese chronographs. I would rather a 1/10sec dial, a date dial instead of the window, or just eliminating it altogether. However, I tolerate it for a nice looking, well made, Solar watch for well under $100.

My First Pulsar!
Mostly been a Casio, Seiko, Lorus, Timex, Fossil and even an Armitron guy, but at 54 I’d never owned a Pulsar. They don’t seem to be too common. I guess they’re owned by Seiko and perhaps it’s really just a Seiko inside. Either way I like that it’s solar-powered, has a chronograph and date and three sub-dials. I love the blue dial and that it’s not gaudy or overbearing. Yes, the lume looks nice, but doesn’t last too long. That’s about what I expected for what I paid. Yes, I’ll always dream of various Longines and a I do have a working Angelus triple-date, but this Pulsar is a fantastic watch and will be on my wrist for the foreseeable future.
