Derwent Lightfast Colour Pencils, Professional Quality, Wooden Box Set of 100, 2305693

These pencils are wonderful! They not only have beautiful pigment, but they are easy to sharpen with the Derwent pencil sharpener & I like the size of the barrel. Highly recommend!

I've been wanting to get these pencils for a while. They are beautiful and very creamy. The palette is very neutral with a ton or earthy and skin tones. I think I have enough colors here to draw anything I want. The colors blend and layer beautiful and are very creamy even though some colors do feel a little bit more scratchy.The pale peach color came broken, but amazon helped me resolved that issue. The box is great and very well made. 61 out of the 100 colors are lf1 which is the highest last fastness according to the ASTM standard. The only pencils that have a higher number of lf1 pencils are the Caran D'Ache luminance that have 78 lf1 pencils out of a hundred, but to be honest, lf2s are extremely lightfast and are still usable to sell your work if that is what you want.If you like the palette and prefer oil based pencils over wax based this is the way to go.This pencils are great

Wooden box completely unhinged on one side. Box looks faded. Colors are nice but not worth the price

I was apprehensive about using these pencils because I usually prefer my Caran D'ache and Faber Castell colored pencils. I found myself wanting something a little softer that was oil-based, so I bought these. I wasn't disappointed. The color from Derwent Lightfast colored pencils is rich, creamy, and easy to layer. Prismacolor colored pencils are great for practice, school assignments, or if you're drawing for fun but since I sell my drawings and my clients expect my work to last for generations to come, I can't take the risk of wax bloom or cracking. Granted, I haven't personally seen how this color will age but I have a good feeling they'll age well and stay vibrant. I hope my drawing that I've attached helps solidify my praise. Purchased on Black Friday 2021, expected a beautiful set of Derwent Lightfast Pencils in Wooden Case. Everything looked fine until I started swatching out the pencils, which are beautiful by themselves. The problem is not the pencils. The pencils were lovely, and I highly recommended them. However, in this box of 100, as I was taking inventory I found a lot of duplicates and missing colors. I was disappointed and immediately put in for a refund, however, after I swatched out the remaining pencils I promptly changed my mind!! I wanted to keep them. But I found 14 duplicates and one broken pencil lead. The duplicates were as follows: Champagne x2, Dark Honey x2, Mallard Green x2, Brown Ochre x2, Mist x2, Wheat x2, Venetian Red x2, Natural Brown x2, Chocolate x2, Van Dyke Brown x2, Black x2, Seaweed x2, Spruce Green x2, and Ruby Earth x2. The broken pencil is Mid-Ultramarine x1. The missing colors are as follows: Pale Peach x1, Cinnamon x1, Dusty Pink x1, Magenta x1, Nightshade x1, Sapphire x1, Denim x1, Pacific Blue x1, Light Aqua x1, Turquoise Green x1, Pine x1, Lichen Green x1, Autumn Brown x1, and Mars Black x1. I contacted Derwent USA directly and was told that because I purchased from Amazon they couldn’t help me. And there’s no email, chat, or phone # to contact an Amazon representative to address the problem of getting a replacement. So I have to surrender these gorgeous pencils and loose the fantastic Black Friday deal. I’m so upset I could cry. Not often do I get to purchase such a lovely “Mommy” indulgence, just my luck. But yes, these pencils are so much better than the set of Caran d’Ache pencils I’ve used in the past. I don’t know how this set could have left the Derwent factory so horribly irregular, and Derwent didn’t even apologize for their huge quality control error.Very sad.

The set overall is wonderful. I had a couple damaged pencils in the set. The color mist has a split along the wood casing (see attached image) and the color purple had a damaged/ broken tip (see additional attached image). I would most likely would have given it 5 stars. The woodbox the pencils came in is very sturdy.

The pencils themselves are great, good quality professional grade quality.However it was disappointing to receive a dented box especially for expensive artist box set this should have not been the case.‘Forest’ pencil repeated twice and set was missing the ‘Foliage’ color. Derwent should have better quality control and checks.
