Excellent book.
I work exclusively with combat Veterans. This book has been tremendously helpful for me in tailoring the standard EMDR protocol to Vets. It is all in here. As a Vet myself, I appreciate his attempts to communicate military culture to the reader as well as good EMDR technique. There's one minor thing (not worth deducting a star for). Hurley has a fantasy that Stoic philosophy is somehow the guiding principle of all Soldiers, Sailors and Marines. He cites a couple of famous, educated, high-ranking officers who were students of Stoicism as proof of this. I would be willing to grant that there are probably some troops right now who might study it. But to say that Stoic philosophy underlies the psychology of all soldiers is simply not true and is wishful thinking on his part.
