Very inspiring book
I am in the army and I am currently on deployment and now I can't wait to get home, design and start on my many projects. If the tips and techniques work I'll upgrade this to 5 stars,,, but very inspiring book I hope it's enough to get me started...

OUTSTANDING....
I am a do-it-yourself home improvement guy that has spent a lot of money on various books on all kinds of home improvement topics. This book is by far the best for concrete ideas and the how-to of tackling these projects at home. Other books I have purchased provide nice pictures and a finished product picture but do not provide the level of detail that this book shows on how to tackle these projects. Some of these may seem basic and I may not follow the exact methodology that this book presented; however, I greatly appreciate what was provided since it gives me a basis for how to move forward with some concrete projects.

A good sized, informative, descriptive guide for concrete uses.
I love this book. It has lots of pictures and clear instruction for various uses of concrete. I am doing my own repairs and this book is handy to have.

Excellent guide for beginners and advanced DIY
One of the only books I found that showed how to form and pour concrete steps. And not just one or two steps, there is a whole section with photos and illustrations on how to complete the entire project. There are also many other projects for beginners and advanced users as well. I would highly recommend this book to beginners who are looking for useful/practical applications using concrete throughout the house and yard.

Lots of good project ideas, but needs more instruction/advice on concrete mixing & finishing.
I bought this book as a primer for many hardscape projects I want to do around the house. It has many good project ideas and is good for telling how to dig footings, build forms, set block, etc. Where it really falls short is on the art of mixing concrete and mortar, etc. It also falls short on finishing slabs, etc. On one hand the book is really useful, but I still feel that I need to get a "concrete whisperer" in to do the finishing work on my concrete.

Great guide
I really enjoyed this guide, it's a good mix of step-by-step and inspiration for new projects. Very easy to follow and reasonably thorough. We did some light patio work and are looking forward to more projects soon!

Great buy!
Great way to get started on some DIY home improvement projects. I patched a hole in the wall with some stucco mix. I didn't follow the directions step by step since they seem to be pretty basic but the book gave me a little more confidence and helped me understand the basics steps involved and materials needed.

Someone is being a copycat
I don't know who is the one?. This book is automatically the same book as thecomplete guide to Masonery & Stonework, absolutely no difference. The exactsame materials, photos etc. are covered in both books. If you got one, don't buythe other or don't think of buying both -- 'just buy one'. Been dubed!.

Solid concrete guide
Great book. Although it is centered on a product they produce, it explains things such as building steps in a manner I've never seen before. Great attention to detail in showing all the steps.
