Liked the most the fact that it was done
Liked the most the fact that it was done. Liked the least that the original FUTZ! poster from the deLys OFF-BROADWAY production was not represented. Very little credit given to THE ORIGINAL LaMaMa Troupe under the direction of Tom O'Horgan!!

An amazing record of a woman who lived the arts and the theatre (as well as lives) she influenced
I had never heard of Ellen Stewart or La MaMa Theatre before devouring this book. Now I can say I not only have an idea of the kind of woman Ellen Stewart was but her commitment to the arts and the lives of others. What Cindy Rosenthal has done by not just telling this story but showing the world what Ellen Stewart was able to inspire and create is show us all that when it comes to pursuing your goals and dreams there is really no excuse. Ellen was able to literally create something out of nothing, encouraging those around her to not just give their best but showing them by example what that looked like.La MaMa is what it is today because of Ellen's commitment to it and greatness. That commitment showed those in her charge what they could achieve but also gave the world something that it would forever remember.A record of Ellen Stewart's career and legacy as only someone who knew her could accomplish. This book is sure to be a reminder of what it means to believe, create and give.
