Expensive book, but my son (a forester) says it is the book to have.

There are much more professional books out there. And, with the steep price, you could buy several.Could be good for the homeowner, because it is clear. But not up to date for the profession.

This, and many other Alex Shigo books, are also available new from the publisher.

This is the most heartfelt and in-depth look at tree work that I have ever seen.

There is a lot of good info in this book. However, some of the pictures are terrible... more like violent cartoons than illustrative drawings. Also there are a lot of opinions dropped in without explaining the reasoning that led to the statement. That said I am learning from reading this book and will keep it on my shelf alongside others.
