The Kids' Guide to Birds of Wisconsin: Fun Facts, Activities and 86 Cool Birds (Birding Children's Books) Paperback – May 28, 2019

I bought this for my 6-year-old son (he was 5 at the time), and he LOVES it. Hes always asking to take it with us whenever we go anywhere, to ID birds. Of course, he mostly just shows it off to the other kids at the playground instead. But at home, we sit and read about the different birds. Even my 4-year-old daughter who's behind in speech loves it. She adores choosing a color, and then selecting a bird to read about. We've learned a lot.I also have been using the Merlin Bird ID app to help find birds by their sound, and then we look it up in the book.Beautifully laid out, easy to use, even good for adults.

This book is great for kid bird watchers! The pictures are beautiful and clear. The color coding is simple and intuitive for kids to use. The text is informative and encouraged learning more. We actually used our first copy a lot and lost it! So I bought another.

This book is wonderful! Easy for kids to navigate and be able to learn about birds while watching them at the feeder. Highly recommend!

I purchased this to help with a beginner birding program our Bird City group was offering. It was so helpful. The youth loved it and almost every parent asked where they could get their own copy. The color organization is helpful and when the male and females are so different, they get their own pages. The photographs are very well done and we all appreciate the hints on what to look for highlighted in the photos. The information provided was spot on and the Stan's Cool Stuff was fun to share. I also respected that the book was well edited, the language was plain, but not talking down to. This would be a perfect gift for any young Wisconsin birder along with "coupons" for birding trips and a pair of binoculars!

We purchased this book for our 12 year old son for Christmas. We are all loving the photos and information shared in the book and we are learning a lot. It has a high interest for both adults and children. My son originally saw the adult version of this book at his aunt's house and wanted it. When I searched for the book I found the kids' version which is perfect for him. I had a small issue and contacted customer service and they were great! My son did find two small errors in the book on page 150 and 214...on one page they used the term male when they should have used female and did a similar thing on the other page. But the information in the book, makes up for the erros.

We recently put up a bird feeder and have enjoyed seeing the variety of birds that stop by to eat. My granddaughter, age 5, was coming to visit so I thought an easy bird book would be nice to show her. as it turns out, the book is a bit difficult for her. But I have to say, I have enjoyed having the book on hand. It is organized by the bird's primary color, so for example you can find the info on cardinals by going to the red tab section. We get a wide variety of birds in our location, and this book includes all of them and then some.

Content of the book is great and geared toward kids 5+. It's an especially great boom for the inquisitive kids.It would've been 5 stars of the book wasn't falling apart. Got it less than 48 hours ago and the pages are separating from the spine.
