Using for cnc router signmaking
I am using this bit in my cnc router and it cuts the wood cleanly and with no burning. I used it with plywood, maple, cherry and walnut; from soft to hard woods it produced a excellent finish. I was running the bit at 15k rpm and between 40-60ipm feeds. I am very happy with my purchase, and it looks like it will last a long time.

A little rough
1st CMT router bit. Luckily the tip appears good but the further down you get the rougher it gets. Havent seen how it cuts yet

Long time customer
I have bought 5 or more of these bits for my ShopBot CNC. With the three flutes it cuts very smoothly and maintains it sharpness well.On some projects I cut through Avery vinyl paint mask before the material. It cuts cleanly and I am able to paint and the peal with no problem.

Nice V bit
Nice V bit. Stays sharp. Ordered second time cause I crashed my CNC router and broke the tip. Carbide is brittle.

Burrs on edge are not a defect, as it's not a 5/8" cutting width
Okay- haven't even used it yet, but had to note edge quality, as it was cited in another review of this bit (on Amazon, just from a different vendor than this one).Complaint was that the edge had burrs. Yes, the one I just received has them also. However, you can clean them off with your fingernail, as it is in the soft metal way above intended cutting edge.Unlike conventional carbide edge bits where carbide is cast in or brazed onto HSS core, this appears to be a HSS blank with a 1/2" carbide plug bonded into center. Then the milling of the edges takes place. Due to the sharp angle, the outer HSS blank is ground as well, making it seem it is in the actual cutting edge. This leaves a slight burr, as it is in the softer steel, not the carbide.So- Bear in mind- this is not a 5/8" diameter cutter, and I would not expect the soft steel to leave a very pleasant surface if you push it as such. By my measurements, the bit's carbide is spot on at 1/2" cutting diameter, with a 7/16" full depth of cutting edge. If you look closely at the literature and physically examine the bit itself, it is quite evident.Hope this helps clarify anyone contemplating purchasing this bit - if you must have a 60 degree cutter with over a 1/2" cutting diameter, you need to look at a different bit.

Five Stars
Unlike many V-Bits, this bit comes to a sharp point. Cuts very well, with little to no tearout.

I wonder where these were made?
It's hard to find a 60 degree v-bit and these came highly recommended. Although I would question if they were made in china because the quality was horrible. On my v-bit there were machining burs on all the cutting edges near the top. I had to remove them myself, if I hadn't it would have surely ruined any project I would have tried to create.

An Awesome VCarve Bit!!
Very simply this is the best VCarve bit I have used to date - sharp, long-lasting edge. I highly recommend it.
