Screw-on Camera Metal Lens Hood Sun Shade Protector for CANON EF EF-S 100-300mm 75-300mm 70-300mm 28-80mm 50mm 65mm Lens on 7D 5D Mark IV 80D 90D DSLR Camera and other 58mm Thread lens

This is the third JJC lens hood I have purchased - I am perfectly happy with the previous two. They were larger, for medium format film lenses, and I am able to to mount them onto the lens and then securely fit a lens cap inside. This 49mm screw thread lens hood has no means of mounting a lens cap inside, so the hood has to be removed before a cap is put onto the lens. This means you have to store the hood off the lens and re-mount it every time the lens is used. In that, I was disappointed, but I guess that it should have been obvious to me from the pictures on the Amazon web page.Another observation I have is that the lens hood never 'locks' no matter how many times you turn it on the screw thread. This may be deliberate - it means that you are unlikely to accidentally remove your lens filter when removing the hood. If deliberate then this is a plus for design!

This could help customers in the future.I like to fit a cover over the lens hood normally. When I fitted the UV lens then screwed the lens hood on the normal 46mm Olympus lens cap would not fit - kept falling out.I had a spare 58mm Olympus lens cap which saved the day. It fits like a glove.BRILLIANT

Hi, I purchased this for my M.Zuiko 25mm f/1.8 lens, 46mm filter thread. As other reviewers have correctly mentioned you can no longer fit a lens cap with the hood mounted on the lens but you can add a cheap 58mm center pinch or side pinch type lens cap to the front of the hood which fits perfectly.:)

Hard wearing, easy to fit, does the job for me after having sent back other flimsy poorly made ones.

A perfect fit for my 50mm lens; very well made too and metal, not plastic!

In the specifications they included the 12mm lens, is no good for that wide angle.The construction is very good.
