Beautiful, a bit off from the photo, but still great.
I'm disappointed by all of the negative reviews on this item. So much so, that after flipping through them, I was very hesitant to purchase this product for myself. I have to say that I do agree that the photograph is a bit deceiving, which is a shame because I think they could get a more accurate photo and still sell this product widely at this pricepoint! The blue color is a lot more turquoise than the cobalt pictured, and it's clear they took the photo on some reflective surface that highlighted the lights as if they shine brightly around the things around it: they do not. Not really. You can put it right up against a wall and see a bit of a reflection, but not any more so than a regular lightbulb. It does not create the "starry" effect many people might've been hoping for due to this representation. And yes, you can see through it and see the lights inside through the crackles, but that's how it's meant to be, I think. With a more accurate photo, however, I wouldn't be taking any points off of my review. I REALLY enjoy this thing! I think it looks great as an accent piece in my room. It's a really interesting light, and in my opinion, is very beautiful. My favorite thing about this item is the "timed" mode. It has an on/off switch with a third option for the light to stay lit for a few hours, starting each day at when you first turn it on in the timed mode. For example, if I turn my light on at 9 PM, it shuts off at around 11/12, and then the next night, illuminates again at 9 PM - so I never have to remember to turn the thing on myself, let alone to turn it off. That's a really nice feature for a decorative light in my opinion.Overall, I'm very happy with this and would recommend giving it a shot despite other reviews. I've attached photos of my own sphere that I hope can serve as a better example of what this really looks like!

Stunning
Bought both a large one and small and they are on dining room table. Great for both St. Patrick’s Day and Christmas.

Beautiful Light Display
This was a Christmas gift for a friend who likes unique lamps and lights. She put it in her bedroom and she and her husband love the light show it emits to the ceiling and walls of their room. It comes in several colors but I knew green was her favorite color, so I selected that color.

Highly recommend
This is a Christmas present who loves dim lighting at night. No doubt they will love it. Very well made, beautifully presented and as described.

Not as described, though it is lighted...and blue...and a "ball sphere"
It's certainly not as pictured. From the description, I was expecting a glass ball that was, if not crystal, at least glass. Short of breaking it with a hammer, I can't be sure, but it feels like plastic and it looks like plastic. So, thinking it was glass, I thought it would also be transparent. Instead, it's a shiny blue globe with little speckled holes through which the inside light is visible. With some artful photography and a shiny surface, you get the picture in the product description. But here's what I do like about it:**With the lights turned off, it's a really pretty deep aquamarine blue**It's very shiny, both lit and unlit**The flat bottom means there's no worry about stability**It's easy to work--easy to put batteries in--easy to turn on and offSo, it's pretty anyway, and I like it enough to keep it.My photos show the ball without the lights on.

Very Disappointing
When I opened the box I had no idea what I was looking at. Online it appears to be a glass looking globe that blue light shines through. Sparkly and gorgeous. In reality it looks like a blue plastic ball which appears to have spots of color missing that a clear light kind of shines through and a plastic bottom. The base of the ball is thin cheap plastic, the ball itself the best way to describe it is if you went to the dollar store and purchased a ball Christmas ornament and then took a knife and scraped off some of the color from inside of it, then placed a very dim light inside. (Though in defense of the dollar store ornament, I've seen some good looking ornaments there and this coating isn't nearly as shiny). This ball lit up does not appear to look like the photos. If there is even one light on you cannot see a glow from it what-so-ever. If I am in a pitch-black room with it on a shiny surface there is indeed a bit of a glow, but if I move my hand one inch away from it the glow is not strong enough to reach my hand. It does indeed state Mercury glass (or silvered glass), which traditionally meant glass that was blown double walled, then silvered between the layers with a liquid silvering solution, and sealed. But you can create the effect with mirror-like spray paint, vinegar and water, which I suspect is the case here. Even in the darkest room this thing could not be mistaken for the image online. It looks like something much less that the $20 I spent on it. Now I have one week before Christmas to try to find something else. Very misleading :(

Beautiful !!
Love these. Based on the reviews I almost didn’t buy them but I’m so glad that I did. I placed them at the base of a small console Christmas tree and they look gorgeous day and especially at night I got both the small and large in silver Not cheap looking at all as some said Perhaps the color makes a difference
