Dragon Hunter

“Some things are worse than death.” Being eaten by a dragon rates high on the list.
All of the fight sequences in this movie were just a blur, literally. Whoever was in charge of the camera in these crucial moments was playing hopscotch at the same time. That, or waltzing, falling down on the job, fighting off hornets, being shaken by a very big dog…take your pick. The point is, I couldn’t see what was going on, who was fighting who, technically speaking, I still don’t know what an Orc looks like because the darn camera was in frenzy-mode!!! I won’t even mention the odd collection of disparate accents involved. Or the fact that dragons were rarely seen (they came late and didn’t stay long). Otherwise, this was exasperatingly mediocre…if that!

Entertaining
I had fun watching it. Agreed, the "shaky cam" was annoying but it only happened during the first two battles. And I pretty much liked all the characters, So yes, looking for a fun watch check it out.For a more comedic approach check out "Orcs!", also available on Prime, starring Adam Johnson ("Malnick" in Dragon Hunter). Recommended.

For the Budget...
I actually did some work on this film, I was glad to see it actually make it to DVD, Yes it's corny and the acting is well... ok lets say Isaac (Pirates of the Caribean) did a great job of growling and finally saying a word or two, Kelly Seales (The Ring) was Hot, but the two most famous actors were not the main characters. Interesting... Anyway I thought the film was done as well as can be expected for the budget was done on. In todays world of 200 Million + productions this one was created for pennies in comparison.

Surprisingly good
For a low budget movie it was surprisingly well done and well acted.

not bad
interesting story which made the horrible delivery bearable but the excessive camera shake during each fight was bad enough i nearly got motion sick which is not something that happens with other movies that use the same method to hide poor choreography.

Too cheesy and low budget
Although this film had a followable plotline and character development, the writing was very cheesy and predictable. During action scenes, especially in the beginning of the film, I nearly got motion sick from the terribly shaky camera work, which I suspect they did on purpose to mask poor quality acting/choreography. While this isn't the worst film I've ever seen, I struggled to watch the entire thing and would never recommend it.

Better than I thought it would be.
Good writing added to the serious nature of the way this film was made. The actors are not acting, they are really feeling it, and the clumsy wimp turns out okay with minimal yawning.

Not bad for a low budget
If your looking for a Hollywood blockbuster look elsewhere, if you don't mind low budget films then this is okay for passing the time. The special effects were minimal but with the exception of the dragon were of a decent standard. The dragon was okay but you could tell they didn't have the facilities to make it truly believable.Acting was often wooden but the actors managed to put just enough effort into it to make it worth watching. The story itself wasn't too bad but I was left with a few questions, though that could be just me.
