If You Are Looking At This, Buy It Now
Matched the part exactly, including connection hardware, for my 2005 Grand Caravan. The installation advice in the Amazon reviews were also very helpful. Fortunately I had a decent socket set for removing the old parts, so don't try it with cheap tools. A fifteen years old connection isn't going to come out without some resistance. Spraying with a solvent a couple times before the parts showed up I'm sure helped. Make sure to plan a way to keep the tailgate open as far as it will go during the installation, as it is necessary to get the parts in. Actually that was the most challenging thing. I tied it up to the ceiling of my garage, but plan ahead. If you have a power gate like mine you know it is useless as well potentially dangerous with bad lift struts. If you have any basic repair skills it's a piece of cake. If not, take it in and spend three times the money (and 4x the time) to get it fixed. Don't just leave it like I did for three months.

These are PERFECT replacements for OEM on my 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan
The hatchback on our 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan had been slowly closing on us the past few months. Then when the weather turned cold a couple weeks ago it wouldn't stay up at all. I'm less than handy at most jobs (in fact, my wife has her own toolbox to do things around the house) but when I did a search on replacing the lifts it seemed pretty straight forward so I ordered these. Several of the comments helped me (like getting the T-40 Torx bit - $1.97 at Home Depot this morning and hooking up the van side before the liftgate side). I propped that hatch open with a snow shovel while I disconnected the old ones but when I was installing the new ones I needed help to extend the liftgate range to the max open position so I got a neighbor to help. Everything went well & took about an hour. The hatchback opens quickly & decisively with these new lifts. My wife is very happy (& probably more so that she didn't have to do it).

Excellent replacement lift gate struts
These are excellent direct replacement lift gate struts for our Town & Country van. They are much better compared to the OEM ones that are originally on the van. A little bigger in size than the OEM ones, but didn't affect any functionality at all. Solid and well made. Extremely pleased with these struts. Installation was straight forward with no issues. Make sure to prop up the lift gate or have help when replacing or you'll have a difficult time doing it. Removed the old struts, installed these and was good to go. Took all of about 30 mins to do. The torx screws will be tight when removing the old ones and installing the new ones, but that's not a big deal with a decent sized ratchet. You'll need something to assert enough torque to get them off initially, but reinstalling the new ones is easy as long as you're careful not to cross thread them.

Very good replacements
These were a very close fit, and seemed just slightly longer than what I took off. They were close enough that with some extra lift on the rear hatch and oomph on the torx driver I was able to get the mounting screw threaded and tightened. My Caravan is 10 years old and I had forgotten what a proper lift was like. Very nice to have it working again. As others have said, if you don't have a friend to hold up the hatch, have a good prop handy because the gate will not support itself on a single cylinder.

Works great!
2005 caravan liftgate works great now. Propped it open with a 2x6, replaced both gas lifts. Had no issues at all, a T40 on a 3/8 ratchet took the old ones off and put the new on with ease. Now I have to be careful opening it - it'll go up on it's own :) took maybe 10 minutes with a helper to make sure the board didn't slip out.

These seem very substantial.
I installed them in a brief period with another’s assistance. Now, a little hard to close. The way it should be, I assume.
