Happy with my paint investment!
I'm by no means a professional artist, but I've been wanting to try my hand at painting landscape. My paints arrived just yesterday, and this is what I did last night! My first painting since I was a kid. I love how rich the colors are and how flow-y the texture of the paint is, but still with excellent coverage. Only takes a tiny bit to give good color. I was a bit overwhelmed at first with the selection of colors, but quickly picked my favorites. The purples in particular are insanely beautiful. All in all, a wonderful set of paints! Looking forward to learning more about painting with these nifty little tubes, and it looks like they'll last a good while.

Over articulated color spectrums
I just opened the box today and, overall, I'm o.k. with it. A 'newbie' would thrilled and grateful. There's alot of paint here, however, I feel that some of the spectrums are over articulated and others not so much. For example, there are probably about 12-14 shades of red/orange, 6 shades of yellow, and 12 shades of green. Yet, there's only 1 shade of gray, 6-8 shades of blue and, 1 shade of white (bright white. There are 3 metallics: gold, bronze and silver - nice.As a mixed-media collage artist who wants to delve more deeply into just painting, I thought this product selection would serve my purposes (and it will), but I will still need to acquire a knowledge of mixing paint to achieve certain colors (though, not much).ViscosityI immediately noticed that these paints are thinner than other brands of acrylics I've purchased individually. They're noticably much thinner, runny. I won't be using my palette knives at all. This will be reflected in the coverage, which in turn means that I will use alot of this paint fairly quickly. As a starter kit, it's fine. For someone further along in their craft such as myself, this will be my first and last purchase of this brand.

Only 53 colors, Beginner & experimenting quality, label to paint match is...meh.
Definitely beginner quality. NOT heavy body but VERY fluid. Not for knife palette painting.Price & quality good beginners and to feel free to try new things without wasting paint as it's expensive. If you are a beginner, BUY SOME TITANIUM WHITE (one in this) to expand your palette.I haven't tried these on canvas yet (it's a lot to test), but based on how watery these are I figured multi-media paper would work fine (XL brand 98lb/160g). The color tests are pictured. I don't get a good feeling about canvas depending on your goal.Wood might even be a good surface with some stain-like finish to more opaque depending on the number of coats. They definitely aren NOT for refinishing ceramics and outdoor stuff.Labels are 50/50. I applied some paint to the bottle to help with it and reorganized the groupings better (see pick of tray in box as when opened for difference in blues/purples)Finish is glossy unless you really thin it.They REALLY like green colors (primarily green tone). There's too much green so enjoy those forestry landscapes.I suspect some of these are mislabeled in that the colors are just too similar. In other cases, they are too close in hue to be worth including vs. something else. I've looked at the color tests in 5 different light shades. I'd say it's actually about 53 colors of distinction and not 60. I haven't opened the second box I ordered, so I can't test against that one to see if anything is different. Maybe they vary as they should in that one. ** Hooker's Green Light 510 and Hooker's Green Dark 512 are the SAME PAINT. The Light is mislabeled. ** Green Deep 570 and Permanent Green 538 are the SAME PAINT. ** Cadmium Red Hue 326 and Scarlet 302 are the SAME PAINT. ** Mars Red320 and and Light Red 306 are essentially the same. Only thick is different, and that takes a lot of looking and light variation to see. ** Payne's Grey is too black. It should have a slight midnight blue tint. It is no different from the black no matter how thin. ** Burnt Umber 687 and Raw Umber 688 are the SAME PAINT. There is no difference. Of note, Vandyke Brown 690 is so close to both of them that thinking it's ever so slightly different is me trying to give credit for a different hue. But it too looks just like them.I haven't mixed any yet with white to see if the tones vary, but all other efforts are seen. I also haven't run them over black to test opacity in that way, but the charts I made give a good idea of opacity vs the label's opacity indication. If you do apply them in a thick manner (it's tricky), they take a long time to dry. Thin dries quickly. There are 5 metallics including one Pearlescent Blue, and there is one Fluorescent Pink. There are some bright orange/yellows and a Yellow Green that could accompany the Fluorescent Pink. The color charts start with a "knife" drag then finish with a brush, some with a few layers depending on opacity (PS, PINK is really transparent). I haven't tried them on a black canvas either, but I don't expect that would go well.I won't suggest you buy or don't. I've given enough info so that a buyer can decide what they want to get out of it compared to price. I'm using them to experiment cheaply which is what I need right now.A number of these DRY VERY DIFFERENTLY from the wet color, so make a color chart. Don't expect what you see to be what you get as it's in progress.Packaging was good. They come in the indicated tray in a shrink wrapped box that's good for continued storage. However, don't let the the picture on the box make you think they are good for knife palette painting. The tubes are a good metal and sealed. The lid has a punch built in. Take your time screwing he lid back on correctly on some of them, or your paint may dry because it's crooked,

Overall good buy, minor issues with labels and selection of colors
The paints themselves are fine, especially for beginners but had two problems with the overall set:1.got way more shades of certain colors(esp browns) than blues. Something like 4-5 shades of blue vs. 8-9 tubes of brown. Didnt seem right2. The label colors on the tubes are confusing. Meaning - a pthalo blue or aquamarine blue’s label was a deep purple, so when the label colors don’t match the actual color of the paint, it’s a bit confusing if you’re going by the packaging color and not the name. You eventually learn to check each color inside the tube, but ideally you shouldBy have to.Other than these two annoyances, the quality of the product itself was pretty good and I’m enjoying it

Ready to paint to my hearts content!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I am totally wowed by this acrylic paint set. It is very reasonably priced especially considering that you get 60 different tubes of paint. Each tube of paint is labeled with the color of the paint and the sizes .74 oz, 22 ml. I pretty much have any color that I could need now to do my projects and I can't wait to paint along with various YouTube videos for fun and relaxation!
