What to expect if you don't have the recommended bleached hair
The box clearly says it is recommended on hair that has been lightened. I thought that was because it would only show up as a vibrant, bright purple if it was applied to pale blond hair. On my darker non-bleached hair, I figured it would show up as a dark purple.I applied it like highlights to get streaks. What you see in the picture is that I ended up with streaks of a subtle, sheer wash of color.I think it wants bleached hair not only for making the color more vibrant, but also because bleaching damages the hair shaft, making it more porous (i.e., making your hair soak up more of the color).So, I think if you have chemically damaged hair, you are more likely to get the results on the box.If you have hair that has not been chemically altered, you will get a more subtle, sheer wash of color.As for me, I tried to do a peekaboo style of purple highlights because I wanted some purple, but not a full head of vibrant purple. Now that I know I can expect something much more subtle, I feel safe about using this on all my hair.I gave this 4 stars because I think it will be a great product for me; however, while it said it worked best on bleached hair, it didn't say that it required bleeched hair for color saturation.

I love love love it!!
The media could not be loaded. I first got a full tube of this item as a sample. I ended up trying it out and loved the results I got. This is the third bottle I have purchased and I will continue to purchase this brand. It’s my go-to semi- permanent hair dye. Indigo is my ultimate favorite. ❤️

Did not work well. Suppose to be a vibrant pigmented purple and instead got an ashy plum

Super easy to use, very vibrant color and it was completely mess free to use :) it also smells really good unlike most hair dyes That I’ve tried.
