Beware of the links in this book!
Tree top terryThis book contained several mysterious links embedded in the story, but I did not dare to follow any of the links for fear of getting a virus that could destroy my device. I could not see where the links pointed to. So I wrote to Amazon and asked them :“ I bought Book: Terry Treetop and the Lost EggAll links in this book are of concern. When I press on a link something is downloaded onto my computer and I am taken to a shopping location. I do not want my kids to have books with links to shopping locations or viruses. The links are:Link at location 15 of 299 > Click here to get your free fun and creative kitLink at location 19 of 299 > His special name is Terry TreetopLink at location 35 of 299 > Terry TreetopLink at location 62 of 299 > sea turtleLink at location 90 of 299 > alligator!Link at location 118 of 299 > frogAnd there are more links in this book too. “End of my letter to AmazonAmazon wrote back:“If you see a link, you can hover over the link with your mouse and press right click. You will see the following:1. Open link in new tab.2. Open link in new windowYour computer will open the link using a new tab or new window which ever you choose. If you need us to walk you through the process, we will be glad to call you and guide you over a live chat or phone, our live customer support executives can discuss the problem precisely and can find an expedient and satisfactory resolution to this issue. Please click on the link below:https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/contact-us”End of Amazons letter to me.I could not see where the links pointed to when I hovered over link and right clicked on my Kindle for PC. And last night when I shutdown my computer, updates were applied to my computer. Today after I booted my computer, my desktop was missing icons, and I realized the updates that were applied to my computer had to be removed because they had probably caused the problems. Luckily I knew how to remove the offensive updates and I was able to get back to a working computer. But now I suspect that that link in the Terry Treetop book may have caused the problem. When customers cannot trust links in children's books, it is bad news for customers, writers, and Amazon! Why can’t you test every link in the books for children?” End of my response to AmazonAmazon wrote back:“I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you had experience in this case and I understand your concern about your account security when you purchased the book "Terry Treetop and the Lost Egg (Adventure & Education series for ages 2-6) ( Animal habitats & Environment free children's book collection)"I'd really love to help, but with the description of the problem, we will need to speak with you either through chat or phone so that we can look into this issue in detail and to better determine how we can resolve this issue to your satisfaction. It is certainly not our intention for our customers to have any unpleasant experience.Through chat or phone, we can try some real-time assistance on your device and completely check where the error is coming from.“I have better things to do with my time than spend it on the phone with Amazon, so I am just going to delete this book NOW.This is about the book:When viewed in full screen, the enjoyable illustrations in this book all appear on pages that are separate from the text, so I suggest readers view this book in split screen mode or multiple columns so that the illustrations can be enjoyed along with the text. I liked this cute book, but the links in it made it a nightmare. But after dealing with the link issue in this FREE book described above, I wish I had never bought this FREE Book and I intend to get it off my computer right away and I will never download books with mystery links again. I lost a lot of time repairing this computer.

Cute Book for Toddlers
I love getting adult books electronically... It makes storage so much easier. Children's books have been more difficult for me to transition to. I love paper children's books- maybe I'm a masochist because it drives me absolutely insane when my older son rips a page or my younger son chews on the book. Absolutely. Insane. For people like me who aren't super familiar with children's eBooks... these books do not light up or sparkle, if that's what you expect. It's just like a book you could buy as a paper book, except your child can't rip the pages and the book won't take up any physical space in your home! Woohoo for less clutter. But it's just a warning to those of you like me, who might just take a little extra time to get adjusted to reading books electronically. There's good things about eBooks and there's bad things about eBooks, but if you have some of each then you should be able to enjoy the best of both worlds. My favorite part about eBooks is how easily portable they are so you can take 1000 books with you on vacation, have millions more available to purchase, and almost no extra weight. I'm a big reader, myself and with my kids, so I love that I will be able to take this book on vacation with us in a couple of weeks to read at bedtime. My 2.5 year old also likes all things electronic so having books on a Kindle really ups the appeal (although he does like paper books too). It may be the first vacation where I won't have to shift all my books across all our bags to avoid extra weight fees for luggage. Ha.That all said, here are my thoughts on this book.Good things:1.I really enjoyed the art in the book. There was lots of color, but the images were simple enough for young children so it's not too "busy."2.My son seems to enjoy it.3. The story is about Terry who finds an egg and is on a quest to find who the egg belongs to. I love animals and he's kind to animals so I'm always happy to read books like this.4. It's a good storyline with just enough text to make it long enough for my son's age (2.5 years old), but not too long to lose his attention.Things that could be improved:1. It might just be the version of the Kindle that I have (one of the earlier Kindle Fire models), but the illustrations and text don't seem to be formatted exactly right.2. In some parts of the book, the sentence structure is a bit more complicated... almost like if you were trying to change your words around for the sentence structure in a foreign language. It makes sense and I think the author set it up that way to make the sentences rhyme, but I think it would be nice if it were simplified seeing kids at this age are really just learning to pick up very simple sentence structure.Overall I think it's a cute book with beautiful illustrations and a good story.

This book teaches the child about different animals and how did they live
This book is super cute and I loved how the author named the different animals and explained how each stores there eggs. The pictures helped make the explaining easier and fun for the kids, I would recommend this book to all my friends with kids. This book teaches the child about different animals and how did they live, it was an enjoyable little book to read. If you read my previous review of Tali’s book “where is my home” you will notice that the little boy in that book is also called Terry and the description of the boy is the same, I pointed this out because I think it’s important if you have a series like the one Tali has to continue with the same child and show the children the different adventures that Terry does.

Delightful
My granddaughter loved this book. From the lovely colourful pictures, to the excitement of finding the right home for the little egg. She was so happy with the happy ending

Even free it wasn't a bargain
I'm sorry, but reading this sort of thing to your child will give them no sense of the wonder that is poetic storytelling. It doesn't scan and often doesn't rhyme, and when it does 'rhyme' it is by sacrificing correct stress or forcing words into a horrible contrived (mis)order.I also didn't like the illustrations.A poor, old-fashioned book which will not do anything to encourage a child's love of language.

Illustrations are nice. I think my daughter just likes the idea ...
My daugher (3) would give this 4 stars, but I give it 3, its OK as a story, the rhyming however leaves a lot to be desired and at times, its really pushing it to just end up with something that rhymes. Illustrations are nice. I think my daughter just likes the idea there are books for her as well on my Kindle, so she's only requested this one twice, which is not a great recommendation. So over all, it is OK and since I did not pay for it, I'm happy but I would not buy more in the series.

Fun story but not enough pictures
My little boy is four and a half months old and fascinated if I get my kindle out. I downloaded this book as I thought it would help him enjoy more books. It definitely does that. The only drawback is that there aren't many pictures for him to look at as some pages are just words, he still enjoys the story though and I would definitely consider buying this series as hardback books for him for now.
