Holy red!
Holy shmoly was this red!! I had recently dyed my hair with henna and it turned out waaay too dark with not enough red in it, so I got this to try and even it out. I thought with my hair color being so dark from the henna (almost black) that this would just show a red hue and not show up very strong at all. I was wrong. It was very red after I was done and rinsed it completely, which I actually really liked, and it faded well until it was completely out of my hair. It never turned orange or coppery, it maintained it's red the whole time, just lowering in saturation each time. The smell is great, it didn't bleed onto anything (just in the shower when washing) and a great price! I have hair down to my back bra strap and I definitely could've used 2 tubes, but I made 1 work. This was fun, vibrant, and although it washes out much more quickly than actual dye it's still worth it to have some fun colors in your hair! And I love that it's safer than the chemical dyes. I'll definitely be trying more fun colors this summer!!

Excellent chooce for delicate hair that cannot handle too much ...
Excellent chooce for delicate hair that cannot handle too much coloring. The result is a gorgeous vibrant color and no damage to the hair.I use it without pre-lightening also, as a gloss.

Just.... really not good.
I'm extremely disappointed with this dye. I usually use Ion Color Brilliance brand, but I decided I would try something new. My hair is generally healthy. I'd lightened my roots and some parts of my hair, while the rest was already a faded red. Getting a decently vibrant, strong shade of red would not have been a problem with any other dye. However, this dye heavily reminded me of when kids dye their hair with kool-aid. Despite being given a great base, it looked extremely dull and faded. It DID leave my hair very soft but after only ONE wash, not only did my hair almost fade entirely to the pre-lightened/faded color it was, but it was actually much dryer and more brittle than before I had used the dye.I don't know about the rest of the colors. They could be alright, but their red is just terrible. I have used dyes I'd call bad that are better than this. Don't waste your money. Get Ion or Pravana. Even Manic Panic is better. What a rip off.

Not highly impressed
I will preface this by saying I have tried 7 different brands of bright red over (dyed) light brown or auburn hair. This one was my second least favorite, behind Manic Panic Vampire Red.I used Scarlet red over my originally-light-brown-hair that had four previous layers of faded semi-permanent red on it. I'd say my start color was about 1-2 shades too bright to be natural looking. After leaving this color in overnight, my hair was maybe 2 shades brighter. My hair ended up being more copper than pure red (picture 1).For contrast to results I have had with other semi-perm reds, I included a (bad) photo of Ion Brilliance Red (photo 2), which I applied two weeks after scarlet red due to dissatisfaction with the color. I also included a photo of my hair with SFX Nuclear Red (photo 3) over medium brown hair with no red build up.However, it did not bleed badly at all. If you are looking for something more natural, then putting Scarlet Red over auburn or light brown hair would be great for you. If you want crazy bright red, it is not for you. Again, my hair was unbleached, so I can't say for sure what it would look like over bleached hair, but I do know that many other reds are able to deliver a much more intense color over unbleached hair.I may eventually give this brand another try with a different color and a bleached base, but for now, I'm sticking to Punky Color.

worth it for how inexpensive it is
I put two bottles of Scarlet Red over my faded red (boxed L'oreal color). It turned out nice but darker / not as vibrant as the box indicated... however - it's a pretty color and didn't leave my hair feeling damaged because I conditioned after rinse out with Ulta red conditioner. The dye offered really great coverage too. You can see my before and after in the pics. Photos taken under daylight white CFL bulbs.Edited to mention that I had washed and conditioned my hair with Organix Argan Oil of Morocco shampoo and conditioner then blow dried my hair IMMEDIATELY before dying it with this dye.
