Overall decent but the manufacturer needs to pay attention to the details.
This product does the job intended. The install instructions could be clearer. The instructions should have more pictures of each installation step. My railing came with 2 sharp areas where a hand might come in contact with them. I had to take a metal file and file them smooth to avoid cutting my hands. The filing of course removed the paint, so now I have to paint to avoid rust. As part of the manufacturing process, the railing should be inspected for rough spots in the tubing and around the welds prior to painting. The little details matter, thus a 4-star rating rather than 5-star.

Great help for person with disability
The rail was put on our 5th trailer. Needed son to do the drilling of holes for mounting bracket, could of had a few extra nuts and bolts. Needed to add extra strap to make feel secure. Overall great for dad to get into and out of trailer. Would highly recommend. Easy to take off for traveling.

Good, but needs modding, wobble issues...
Real reviewer, i paid 99- for this to prevent toddlers from slipping down the rv steps. Overall bars are a good design and solid construction. However that being said, and on most rvs, the mounting location (steps housing) will not facilitate the leverage effect these rails cause, thereby being very wobbly- and it can bend or mangle the step frame if not careful when using. I suppose thats why they include a thin velcro strap for the top to be afixed an existing rv handle, but it proves to be a very minimal assist and i imagine would not last with UV and weathering- and makes for yet another step when setting up. It took about 1/2 hour to assemble and mount with powertools, drilling is required. Then I spent another 30min scavenging in my garage and fabricating a steel support piece about 8 inches above their mounting bracket (see photo, last pic). It made a huge difference, now after the mod the whole rail feals solid and me/wife and my 3 & 5 y/o kids can securely climb up and down tugging on it plenty without concern... I also might figure out a ground steak or something to keep the end on the ground more secure better than the flat foot provided. Without the mod it did not feel secure enough from side to side like a railing should be, but perhaps if u just need to pull on it to assist stair climbing its ok but in that case it would be cheaper to go with one of the folding handles that fold over the door. Just my 2 cents.. hope it helps someone in their decisions...

Had to buy one. Had stroke. Hard to get up and down
Can be a little wobbly. Need a piece of wood on the bottom to help the wobble. It's 80% there depending on how you want to install it. It's better than nothing for sure. Try falling down those stairs.

Good product, lousy instructions.
Good product. Crappy instructions. They didn't match. Also didn't mention what to do with that large round black metal bit. It turns out it is the foot for the rail with the pin that holds it up. They also said use 5 bolts, one in the middle. There is no middle just a huge hole. I used 4, one on each corner. Also found the plate a bit to large for the side of my 3 step stairs. Hangs down a little but, still and enough room to sink 4 bolts. Most of the flimsy is the stairs they mount to. They are not as sturdy as the plate that holds the hand rail. Also, hand rail is hard to slide in and out of the plate. It is tight enough that the set screw is not needed...yet. Will need it later as it loosens up with age and use. I mounted mine on my rear entry door. Going to put a wheelchair lift on the front door.Would be nice if they rigged it so it could be left on in a folded position for travel rather than having to remove it and store it inside.A little more thought into the design would have produced a far better product. But, for now, it is a 4 star for the price.

requires drilling to install
Rail is heavy duty, takes some time and measuring to install, but once in is stable, cut some different thickness wood blocks to put under the ground leg, every setup will be different. Also throw away the cheap strap they include to fasten to existing door handle, I use a heavy zip tie to fasten to handle. Biggest issue is storing the unit in camper does not fold up or knock down.

Really is a big help!
This RV assist rail is such a big help going up and down the steps on our 5th wheel. It was easy to install and is light weight. It is also very sturdy with the rail base plate staked to the ground. We are getting older and this rail has enabled us to continue enjoying camping in our RV. We are so thankful!
