Experience over a decade of music videos from the most visual artist of our time. Take the musical journey with Janet Jackson and watch her videos evolve form the Virgin Records albums janet., The Velvet Rope, All For You, to her most recent project, Damita Jo. All of the music videos from each of Janets four Virgin albums are featured including the previously commercially unreleased "Son Of A Gun"; the deeper personal insights and musical triumphs of Damita Jo (2004)- "I Want You", "All Nite (Dont Stop)", and a bonus live version of Just A Little While" From Janet to Damita Jo- The Videos, not only represents the themes of each Virgin album, but also poignantly defines each stage of Janets life at the time of its release.

She always serves as an example
"From Janet to Damita Jo": The Videos are all of Janet Jackson's videos from 1993-2004. When comparing these videos to the videos from the "Control" and "Rhythm Nation" videos, these videos are not nearly as innovative or creative, however, the dancing is still groundbreaking, brilliant, and top notch. Aesthetically, Janet is still beautiful and her physique is unbelievably sculpted. Do the videos and songs match well? Sometimes. But then there are times when Janet's creative side overlaps her logic, and the finished product is not always a beautiful thing. The videos from 1993-94 were clearly the best on this compilation, especially since she was at her peak at that juncture. "That's the Way Love Goes" is starts this DVD off. This song is Janet's most successful to date. The video has a relaxing and laid back feel. Janet is sitting around and dancing with her friends (most of them were her dancers at that time.) For an added treat, Jennifer Lopez is featured in the video, looking young and vibrant. Janet's most respected choreography is in the "If" video. The robotic moves are still popular among Janet fans and non-fans alike. This video has a Chinese theme to it and features non-stop dancing! Janet looks especially stunning in this one. Janet's most sexually racy video to date is arguably "Anytime, Anyplace." There is nothing special about the video as far as graphics, nor does it include anything over-the-top, but she simply shows her sexual side in such a provocative manner. The way in which she sashays around the room, the intensity in her eyes, the way she bites into her man's earrings and shares a strawberry with him is unforgettable! This video is definitely a highlight. My personal favorite Janet video is "Because of Love." Janet looks genuinely happy here. Again, she is featured with her closest friends and it also has some memorable tour footage. "Again" is another simple video, but the simplicity says so much. The song is about a woman being hesitant to fall in love with her ex again because he hurt her the first time, but, as the song progresses, she is falling for him. There is much passion between Janet and actor Gary Dourdan here. This is another one of my favorites. "Got `Til It's Gone", "All Nite (Don't Stop)", and "Together Again" are all sup par videos overall. "Together Again" and "All Nite (Don't Stop)" feature some amazing dancing, but the videos as a whole aren't among Janet's best. "Together Again" is a song Janet dedicated to friends she has lost to AIDS. In the video, we find Janet and her dancers outside dancing among elephants and desserts. Hmmmm, I don't know about you, but I didn't like that very much. "Everytime" is a beautiful song and has an equally pleasing video. Janet is swimming around nude with blue contacts and a very delicate look on her face. I loved the concept. This DVD features a few nice interviews and performances. If you are vacillating on whether or not you should purchase this DVD, go ahead and pick it up. I rate it 4 stars because I love it!Mikeisha's Top 51. "Because of Love"2. "Again"3. "Anytime, Anyplace"4. "Everytime"5. "You"

Great Purchase
I got this purchase because I’m a huge Janet fan and I saw it on Instagram. I already have the design of the decade and this disc has different music videos. I would say the only thing I didn’t like was the title part that came with every song it was to long and took to much time. I also wish they had Twenty Foreplay but it wouldn’t make sense from where the disc started. Other then that I love this and glad I purchased it.

Glad to see many of Janet's later videos
Glad to see many of Janet's later videos, but not glad to hear the "remastered" audio track this is noticeably different from the versions that aired on MTV. "If" contains many cuts to the Thailand background and many of the great dance moves are missed, taking away from what I consider to be one of her best dance videos. Of course this being a Virgin records release, "Runaway" and "Twenty Foreplay" are skipped as they were A&M releases as well as "Doesn't Really Matter" (From Nutty Professor 2). I wait for the day will Janet will release all of her videos on DVD, from "Control" to "Discipline" Until then, this will be the ideal companion to her "Design Of A Decade" video compilation.

Can I Get a Yasss for 90's and early 00's Janet!
This is a good video anthology of Janet's work in the 90's and early 2000's but it's missing a few of her greatest videos from that time period like "Twenty Foreplay" and "Doesn't Matter (From The Nutty Professor 2 soundtrack)". Other than that, I love the nostalgic vibes all over this disc, especially when it comes to "THE VELVET ROPE" portion (which IS Janet's MASTERPIECE album and BEST/Most Vulnerable/Sexiest era for music/fashion/videos and beyond). I wonder if she'll ever make a new video anthology with ALL her video's from the 80's to now in the future (with "Twenty Foreplay" and "Doesn't Matter" included).

Solid Collection
I do think there is a wide selection of videos and it was nice to see the span of years from Janet to Damita Jo, especially the song span and her change in outfits, appearance etc. It was heavy on the earlier Janet and Velvet Rope videos as compared to All for You and Damita Jo. I loved the collection. The special features were unique in terms of interviews but I wish there was much more. I'm sure they could have thought of several more interviews and live performances she did that they could have included. All in all, I love Janet and so having this DVD video collection is great. You will probably like it too, it just won't complete your Janet collection because it's lacking in certain songs and obviously albums she's done.

Alright collection :-l
I think I liked Janet's earlier stuff including the earlier videos. While this is really good, there are only three standout songs/videos to me. If, Again and That's The Way Love Goes. I think the Rythm Nation material is the best and that's her peak. This dvd has too many remix's for my liking. Look for a long haired (dreadlocked) Gary Dourdan from CSI in Again. That's such a beautiful song and the clip is good too. Overall, this is for serious Janet fans because there are other video collection dvds that would be better for not so serious fans out there - they'd be more complete, such as Design Of A Decade.

Videos off 4 solid albums
Janet Jackson videos from the 1993, 1997, 2001 and 2004 albums are all here. Included are such classics as That’s the Way Love Goes and Again from “Janet” album, Got ‘Til It’s Gone and Together Again off “The Velvet Rope”, All for You from the eponymous LP and I Want You off “Damita Jo”. And even the lesser album tracks, for which videos were shot, have not been omitted - of these, notable are Any Time, Any Place off "Janet", You from “The Velvet Rope” and Son of a Gun in the Missy Elliott version. However, as good as this mix may be, missed are the videos from in between main albums, which would certainly fit well into the disc. So if you are looking for Runaway, Whoops Now or Doesn’t Really Matter, look elsewhere.Bonuses are also worth checking out, especially from Ryan Seacrest TV specials. Overall, a very representative collection from one of the showbiz's (deservedly) most durable artists.

Excellent Value For Money.
I really wasn't expecting much of this when I purchased it, but have been delighted by it! Lots of content on this dvd, with the extras, I am pleasantly surprised, it's rare you get much for your money now adays. Great live performances at the end, and the 19 videos are carefully picked to show Janet's style diversity over the years. Great collection!
