Houston in the 1920s and 1930s (Images of America)

Brilliant photo essay on the city of Houston. If any one person could offer such a work it is Story Sloane of Sloane Gallery. The photos included are part of his collection. His work is utilized by many commercial establishments for decorating. Besides the history of Houston, he has an extensive collection of oil exploration photos from the early 20th century.

This is the second one of these books that I have gotten. The first one was for the town that I grew up in (In California). Now, this one is for Houston. I am going to give this as a gift at Christmas & I know that my brother-in-law is going to love it. I had a lot of fun reading it myself.

Born and raised in Houston, Texas and it was nice to read up a little history from Houston. This is great reading for those days where time is available to just do that - reading.
