The perfect ending to a perfect series!
This was a fantastic end to the Hope's Crossing series! I'm just so sad it's over! I love Hope's Crossing so much, if I could will it to be a real place and move there, I absolutely would.I was kind of worried that because I didn't know Brendan and Lucy from previous books (this is the first time we ever meet Lucy and Brendan had a small appearance in the book 6) I wasn't going to enjoy Wild Iris Ridge as much as I enjoyed the other novels. I was pleasantly surprised! Ms. Thayne does such a great job at writing multi-dimensional characters that are so easy to connect too. Every single character in each novel, even the secondary characters, I connected too and became invested in their lives. Lucy and Brendan was no different.Even though nearly every main character is written with a pretty dramatic backstory, it totally works. In this novel, Ms. Thayne delt with mental illness in the form of panic attacks and anxiety. It's very rare to read a romance novel where one of the main characters deals with mental illness. It was a nice from the usual "problems" and "conflict" that are usually written into these kinds of novels.Brendan was another hero I totally fell in love with! Big, handsome, loyal, honest, dedicated, generous, kind, great dad, etc! I'm not surprised Lucy fell for him. I just can't believe that there are so many hot guys all living in one small town in Colorado! I'm definitely living in the wrong place! If you are considering reading RaeAnne Thayne's Hope's Crossing series, don't wait! Start at the beginning, with book 1, Blackberry Summer, and start right now! You will not be disappointed! No sexually explicit content, no language, and no violence.

Good
A good read with engaging characters.Although after about 75%, the dithering in acknowledging their feelings, gets really old.The kids Carter and Faith are cute. Although present, the kids are not front and centre, which in some ways does not round off the story very well. This is just a niggle, in an otherwise good read. The time just moves quickly in this story.I wonder if down the line RT has written a story with Crystal (Lucy's half sister). Anyone know the title?

This is a must read book!
This is a really fantastic book. It hooked me right from the start and just wouldn't let go.Lucy and Brendan had shared a hot steamy kiss over a decade ago. He promised to call her when he left her on the doorstep that night, but then he never did. Then her cousin and best friend calls her to tell her she is in love with a wonderful man named, Brendan Caine. Lucy's heart crumbles and breaks into tiny pieces over hearing the news. She loves her cousin dearly and wants the best for her, but she can't help feeling a bit of jealousy, either. That is one of the main reason's Lucy left town. She couldn't watch the man she loved with someone else, even if it was with her cousin/ best friend. But she did keep in touch with Jessie after Brendan and Jessie married, either by phone calls or through the internet. She was also the God-Mother to Jessie's two children, and sent them expensive gifts often.Forward ten years down the road....Her cousin Jessie has died of a heart complication two years prior, while pregnant with her third child. Then her aunt died six months ago leaving Lucy sole heir to her estate, including the Victorian Mansion. That's where Lucy lived with her aunt for a few years, it's also the only place she felt the safest.Lucy Drake had just lost her high powered job and decided to pack up and move to the only place she'd ever felt safe, Hope's Crossing, Colorado. She is jobless and in charge of a mansion that her Great Aunt Annabelle had left to her. Lucy hopes she will be able to restore the house enough to be able to sell it and get out of town before anyone recognizes she is home. Unfortunately, things don’t go as planned when her fireplace starts and fire and it forces her to see the one man she thought she would never see again, the now widowed Brendan Caine. The story is also about Brendan Caine, Jessie's widower. He's surviving without his wife, but not what you'd call really living. More like just trying to survive. He does the best that he can to raise his 2 kids, with tons of help from his HUGE family. He's the Fire Chief in town, and on Lucy's first night in town she accidentally sets a chimney fire. They are thrust into each others life again. Sure Lucy is the Godmother to his children and she's been in his children's life since they were born, even if it was from a distance. But since the day Lucy left town, Brendan and her haven't always gotten along. In fact; they are like water and oil. There are also a lot of other assets to this book, and so many twists and turns, too. But I loved each and everyone of them.

Nice story
This was a lovely story, a sweet romance, and I enjoyed reading it. I might have given it five stars if it had been edited properly. Too many errors in the text were a distraction and did upset the pacing of the story at times.

A Must read actually the whole series
have fell in love with this series from book one...hated to see it end but what an ending to an awesome series.cannot wait for more from Raeanne.Lucy was best friends with Brendans wife Jessie, but Lucy always had feelings for Brendan and loved there kids. When her Aunt dies and leaves her the Queen Anne house she goes back to her hometown to fix up the place and get ready to sell it. But things do not turn out as you want them to.She runs into Brendan and tells her of the plans, she starts to hang up with the family more and look after the kids while he is at work. They are coming closer as the days go on and shes not sure what she should do leave town as not to hurt the kids or give love a try. what will happen. I recommend you read it you will not be disappointed in this book or any other in the series...
