Albinoni: Sonate da Chiesa Op.4, Trattenimenti armonici

On these very full (running 79 minutes each) two (2) disc Hyperion recording of eighteen (18) of Albinoni four (4) movement sonatas (opus 4 and 6) for solo violin and continuo (consisting of harpsichord and/or organ and cello), I was able to enjoy another rather unfamiliar, to me, "side" of Albinoni's compositional skills. The sonatas on these discs are very fine examples of "High" Baroque chamber music that are very melodic, graceful and elegant sounding.The Locatelli Trio play these sonatas most beautifully; Elizabeth Wallfisch on violin is especially wonderful playing all of the works with beautiful tone and a keen sense of rhythm. The recorded sound is very good too.

We like Albinoni and his contemporaries, like Corelli, for the kind of music one can listen to -- gorgeous bowing, sublime combos of instruments, tuneful and appealing pieces.

The music on this album is some of the most sublime baroque music ever written, and it is performed with utmost skill and artistry. The small ensemble setting suits the music perfectly, as the various parts intertwine delightfully but allows no one instrument to prevail.This album will give you hours of enjoyment, whether you savor each piece individually as a work of art, or use the music merely as a sweet accompaniment to your daily routines. It is truly one of the best ever recorded!

Herrlich die Interpretationen mit Violine... Sehr inspirierend... Soso.... Noch mehr schreiben soll...😄… na dann... Also: Hab nach einer Interpretation mit Violine gesucht. Meist werden die Stücke mit Flöte gespielt. Musste echt lang suchen und freue mich, diese CD gefunden zu haben. Am liebsten wäre mir ja ein download gewesen. Die gab es aber zum Henker nicht. So hab ich glücklicherweise diese CD gefunden.😃

ヴァイオリンのエリザベス・ウォールフィッシュの主宰するロカテッリトリオの主に教会ソナタ集です。私は、ＯＰ９のオーボエコンチェルトが好みでよく聞いていました。このＣＤも聞きごたえのあるヴァイオリンソナタ曲集です。多分古楽演奏の典で、標準ピッチが４２０付近ではないかと思います。演奏も余裕のある演奏で、聴きやすく、好きになりました。古楽に興味のある方にぜひ聞いていただきたいＣＤです。

Opus 4, with organ accompaniment and opus 6, with harpsichord accompaniment are mingled together across the 2 discs. I would have preferred to hear them separately but no problem really.
