Good and accurate scale
It works very well and it's accurate. I wanted an analog scale, not digital and it's perfect

Good quality for the price
When the unit arrived, it was packaged well and seemed sturdy for the price. I adjusted it to zero and stepped on and off a few times, and the readings have been consistent. I do have to adjust it to zero occasionally, but this does not bother me. I check to make sure it is at zero before I step on. The only potential problem is that the surface area that you step on is rather small. I don't have large feet, so this works well for me -- if you are a man with large feet, you might want to look at a different model. Overall, I am pleased with the quality of the unit.

Works just fine
Not sure what all the negative reviews are about, perhaps there are quality control issues with this scale? But the one I receieved is great. When I first got it I had to zero the scale using the small knob underneath the front edge, and I periodically have to do that still. I decided to test it by placing a 2L jug of water on the scale (about 5 lbs), my own weight, and my weight while holding the jug. It was accurate as far as I could tell. The dial has 1 lb graduations. It does take a bit of skill to use to get repeatable readings, you'll need to shift your weight a bit while standing on it until the needle reaches a steady value on the dial since it has a tendency to stick. But I am getting consistent readings to within 1 pound, which is great for a cheap little scale like this.I am liking the fact that there are no batteries to change with this mechanical scale. Also the fact that some cheaper digital scales will try to cheat you by displaying the last measured weight if you step on soon afterwards, to give the impression that the scale is repeatable. There are no electronics in this one, what you see is what you get (assuming it is measuring your weight accurately of course)A complaint however: the scale is tiny, 10"x10". I would have preferred something with a slightly bigger surfaceOther than that this is a decent little scale. I can't see why anyone would need to buy a scale, digital or not, that measures your weight to a precision of less than 1 pound. If you need that kind of precision and accuracy, there is no substitute for the kind of scale you see at your doctor's office. Also keep in mind that the average person's weight will vary by 3-5 lb a day so unless you are stepping on the scale with an empty bladder and at the same time each day, expect to see some variation.

Sunbeam Should be Ashamed of This Scale
When this scale arrived I carefully followed the very simple instructions as printed on the back of the box to zero out the scale. Placing the scale on a concrete surface, the first problem encountered was the dial would not stay at zero when the adjustment dial was released. Second problem was any slight movement, even a small nudge, of the scale made the dial jump to anywhere between 10 and 30 pounds indicated, which required another cumbersome reset to zero. Third problem was once zeroed and left stationary, the scale did not accurately weigh three different people. It was off by a factor of over 100 pounds for each person! And once again between someone standing on the scale, it would not return to zero and had to be readjusted. And again, the scale did not want to stay exactly on the zero. We tried several different times in several different ways to get the scale to work properly, and it never would accurately display weight or return to zero after each and every use. The scale is one of the worst purchases I've ever made, but due to the cheap price it's not even worth sending back. Sunbeam should be ashamed to put their name on such a junk piece of equipment. Best advice I can give is leave it on Amazon and look for something better if you're looking for dial type scale.

(Edit: Was) Accurate & cheap! / updated with two year retrospective
This is a two/three year retrospective review, I original bought the product July 9, 2013. The scale was also $12 at the time so keep that in mind. The scale has been used 2 ~ 3 times a week for the past couple years and has become more and more inaccurate. It's always around 5 pounds the right weight but will take 2~3 attempts to get an average weight. Ex. If you're 150 the scale will occasionally report 145 or 155, this is without touching the zeroing slider at the bottom. You can be at 0, get on the scale and get off and the zeroing will be changed to -2, 4, -5, 5, etc... Simply tapping the scale (either on the sides or top) will change the zeroing. While the scale "works" for the most part, it was not built to last more then a year and a half. If this had started happening five years in I would have been disappointed but not mad due to the price. For $12 it's ok and I think 3 stars if fair for a product that was not desinged to last but you're better off buying something better (more expensive) that will last longer.== Old Review ==The scale is accurate & cheap however it is very small. A bit smaller then what I was expecting but works perfectly in my bathroom!

Theres a dial to change scale to 0 before use
I was upset at first but I found the little dial at the bottom that let's you set the scale to 0. I have a picture of it. I think thats why most people rated this so bad. They did not read the instructions on the box and move the dial. When you first get it the dial is off by at least 10lbs. Other than that little set back, once you fix it it works fine. Way better than a digital one. Digital had me at 10lbs over and kept changing very time. There is a warranty that comes with it on the back. Alwasy weigh yourself in the same area the same way everytime. For example if you weigh in the bathroom naked you have to do that everytime or the weight will be thrown off.

Accurate
I tested it out by comparing to several other scales, and I find it to be very accurate. It is not a digital, and therefore it’s not subject to the things that Negatively affect a digital scale. On the negative side it is a little small and I am really not a big person and I wish the read out screen was a little larger so you could read the scale better but it’s only $20 and worth it
