Avoid these jeans! With the stretch, they don't last more then a couple of months
I have bought Lee Modern Series jeans for the past 5 years and they have been great, but since they have moved to the four-way flex, stretch material, these jeans don't last more than a couple of months. I like to have three pairs in my closet at any one time, so last September I decided to retire my old faded pairs that have lasted me for about 3 years and bought 3 new pairs. My old pairs were in great shape, just faded and looking worn. By October, one of the new pairs developed a significant tear by the seam in the crotch by the zipper. Not long after, I would have almost left the house with a huge tear at the seam of one of the back pockets, if my fiance had not noticed. I thought maybe it was an isolated incident and my distaste for finding another brand I liked impelled my to order two new pairs in November. While doing laundry this week, the memory of almost walking out of the house with a giant hole in the ass of my britches caused me to inspect my jeans. Wouldn't you know it, two of my jeans are starting to separate at the seams at the crotch and back pockets. I didn't think to distinguish the remaining original pair with the two new pairs (why would I), so I don't know if one of the defective pairs is the original I bought in September, but should it matter? These are jeans, they should last more then four months. That's the supposed beauty of jeans, they are meant to last for a long time. I don't put them through any unusual wear-and-tear. They are my work jeans...and I work an office job. As much as I don't like the prospect of finding another brand for my go-to, the alternative of wasting $40 a pair for couple pairs every couple of months sounds even worse. Avoid these jeans.

Not durable under normal conditions. Great fit, feel, and look.
These jeans fit and look awesome but they don't seem to hold up under normal conditions (I'm thin and sit at a desk all day). My first pair popped a seam on the right rear pocket which eventually became a large tear - I chalked it up to a bad run or just bad luck, shrugged it off, and bought another pair. This new pair has popped a seam about an inch below the front right pocket after my 2nd time wearing them. I love the cost, fit, feel, and look of the jeans but they're not working out for me. Hoping I just had bad luck but it's starting to seem like a quality issue.

I got a small hole in my Left pocket only after 2.5 Months of wear
The media could not be loaded. I am honest, I love these jeans, I like the color, the fit, but I think the quality of certain pieces of the jean is made with poor quality material. Levis Jeans are made to last. Not these ones. My left jean pocket developed a small hole in the bottom part of the pocket. And what ticked me off was that Amazon offered me a $10 hit on my refund and wanted me to return the jeans. I said no. No Deal.I just want consumers to be aware that my pair of jeans developed a small hole in the pocket with no hard wear and tear. I think the pocket is made with cheap thin cloth and makes them easier to tear. Just beware about the quality of the cloth used to makes these pockets. They are made with low-quality cloth. Let me know if you bought this same jean and had a hole develop in your pocket also.

A faulty product
This is my second pair of these grey jeans. The other ones are wearing out. I like the fit and the little bit of stretch and the soft feel of the fabric. I tried buying a different color version of these same jeans, one of the denim colors, and it was too big. My usual size is 36/32, but I think the 36 is getting to be more of a guideline than a rule. The other pants measured 38 in the waist band. I measure a little bigger than 36 myself, but not that much bigger. So while getting pants that are really 38 but called 36 may help me feel better about the winter fat, I was a little too much flattery. Basically my advice is to try several colors for size as well as for fit........Update. After two washings the rivet for the button at the top of the fly pulled out of the fabric. Making the pants useless. I'm trying to find a way to get a replacement because I'm past the return window with Amazon. I have another pair of grey Lee's Modern Series that I bought a couple of years ago that are still going strong - the fabric is different. These are more of a gabardine and the older ones are more like regular jean material. I think the issue is that this material isn't as strong.

I love this brand, fits great! But I received a potential flawed pair.
I’ve been buying the Modern Series jeans religiously for the past 8 years. They have always fit me great and I love the slight stretch for comfort and being active.Unfortunately the pair I received I wore one time, washed, and on the second wear they had ripped in the front unknowingly and it was very embarrassing.I’ve had problems with tears only with years of wear and moisture in the groin, but that is to be expected. There had to have just been a flaw in this new pair I received. Bummer!

what a difference 1% spandex makes!
I've been purchasing Lee Straight-fit jeans for years. Compared to the standard straight fit jeans, this one has a slightly wider leg diameter. Where the differences between the standard and modern series is in the flexibility, feel and looks. It definitely looks dressier, has a soft feel and the flexibility with the spandex allows very easy movement. It is virtually winkle free, although the black jeans I purchased might not show creases very easily anyway. Another plus is that it doesn't seem to pick up as much lint as cotton chinos. I would call these "urban" jeans. Can easily go from casual to work to an evening out. Wish Lee had come out with this series earlier. The one drawback is that there are not as many inseam lengths offered compared to the standard straight-fit.

I really like these jeans but acouple of weeks ago I sat ...
I really like these jeans but acouple of weeks ago I sat down and the crotch ripped. I have not had time to call up or anything and complain, hopefully they’ll see this and replace them. As I say I love this type of jeans their very comfortable and was hoping to order more.
