DEWALT ATOMIC 20V MAX* Combo Kit with Hammer Drill & Impact Driver, 2-Tool (DCK279C2)

I've been trying to hang things up in my unfinished masonry basement, so I bought some masonry drill bits thinking that's all I needed. I have a regular 18v drill and a plug-in drill. I was able to drill into the masonry with those tools, but it was a struggle. After some research, it seemed that I needed a hammer drill. I got this hammer drill today, and within a half hour, I had drilled 5 holes and hung up 2 of my beer signs. This would have taken me at least 2 hours without the hammer drill.Not only does it work great, but it's also very light and much smaller than a "normal" drill. That means it can fit into places that some other drills can't, and I can hold it up while drilling without getting sore arms.My other drill has a light on it too, but this one stays on for a little while after you hit the drill button so you can hit the button to turn on the light, then light up what you're drilling before you start drilling. My other drill only lights up while you're drilling, so you have to line it up in the dark. I never noticed how annoying that was until I used this. Also, the belt hook is very useful. It should be on other tools, so a plus for the DeWalt there.I should also note that this drill isn't just a hammer drill, it's also a regular drill. The torque knob, when turned all of the way on, turns it into hammer drill mode. The setting just before that is regular drill mode. Then it has all of the regular torque settings for screws you'd have on any other power drill too.I haven't used the impact wrench, and honestly, it will be a long time before I need it. I have had many times in the past where I really wished I had one and it's likely that sometime in the future that will happen again. I have no doubt this one will work when that time comes.It was nice that the bag was included for storage. It's not the nicest toolbox, nor the most compact, but at least I have somewhere to keep these tools that is easy to find on my tool shelf. The bag easily fits both the drill and the impact wrench, the charger, and the batteries. There isn't much room to spare after that though.It came with 2 batteries and a charger. The charger is much nicer than I expected at this price point. The batteries seem small, but I've used the drill for quite a while since I received it and hung up a lot of signs and posters in my basement, and I'm only on the 2nd battery. I can't imagine any time I'd need more than these two batteries to work all day.I think this tool will get a lot of use and was well worth the money.

Smaller than I expected. Feels good when holding it. Easy to use. The impact driver requires an adapter which is not included. Not sure if I like or will use the belt hook. I wish it came with the bit holder instead. I put it on though and we will see. The impact driver is pretty light weight with not a ton of power. The drill was what I was more interested in and that seems great. I hope it lasts 20 years like my last Dewalt drill.

Very glad I bought this set. The drill and the driver are very powerful, and fit so well in my hand. Not heavy at all, the battery is not bulky. Way better than the old heavy drill I was using.

Gift for hubby. He loves it. All pieces fit nicely in the carrying bag and the bag is a nice canvas style material.Recommend this combo tool set.
