Does what it's intended to do
With booming out my hairlights, I was using a 40" steel bar that came with my C stand. This just makes it so much easier to set the light where I need it and angle to boom without the arm spinning. The added clip for a sand bag on the end is a great addition and the compactness for storing is great too. I can't wait to take it on location for my OCF usage.

Perfect for Apollo Orb
I love my Apollo Orb but don’t love the fact you can’t tilt it more than about 20 degrees on a light stand due to the configuration of the zipper. This mini-boom solved the problem, so I can go on loving my Orb! Quality product for a fair price. .

The Perfect Overhead Rig For Most People
For the money, this is a really economical and simple solution to an otherwise difficult problem. Having the height makes all the difference in your ability to frame a shot and storage is no problem at all.

Meh
You definitely need weights with it! Was a little concerned I might break it using my westscott strobe.

Just what I needed
No long term use yet, but seems to be well-designed and durable. You probably have a heavier boom if you’re using a c-stand, but if you’re using the usual folding leg light stand and you need some extension over the subject, this is a great solution. It’s not light though, so I would recommend using it on a heavier light stand like an 8 footer or more. Pay attention to the weight limits of each component, be aware that any boom has to be used in a balanced way, and you will be very happy. For its intended purpose, totally beats trying to do it with a reflector arm.
