God's Word: Today's Bible Translation That Says What It Means (God's Word Series)

This is wonderful, amazing, BRILLIANT! The Word of God should always be translated in this format. King James is not bad, but I don't know the King's English. Despite how people feel about that, many of us don't know the King's English. The King's English truly is as different of a language as Hebrew, British English or even Spanish are. Everything from grammar, to words, to cultural nuances in the phrasings.King James spoke to me in what I know as whispers now. God's Word Version speaks to me loud and clear. It's a translation from the original texts but in modern English. If people don't understand or know God and claim the Bible to be boring then hand them this edition of it. It's crystal clear, beautiful, amazing. Thank God for this blessing of being able to find and read this translation.This is more than a mere translation, it's also a great guide. Footnotes, descriptive titles and many other things make this a better central book and resource for getting to know the Father and to understand His relationship with us. I cried in Genesis when I read and finally understood of God's true feelings before the flood. I hurt Him everyday, many of us do. It's not right, it's not right at all. We may have Salvation through Christ now but He's still being hurt greatly. The only reason we aren't flooded again is due to his grace and promise. It makes all of Revelation and everything much more clearer to me.The Word is true, the Word is here and the Word is made easily accessible to us through this text. I love Him and I will serve Him. I will get to know Him truly through finally being able to understand His Word. Thank the Lord for being good. This is both the most tragic and most wonderful love story of all time - and it's true. Not only that but it's happening now and we're a part of it. It's been happening, it's been going on and it continues to exist. How many more people could have been saved had we received this text much more sooner? How many will its' existence help save? Thank you.

I had found a NT version at a local Salvation Army. It is a good translation. Easy to read, not paraphrased and not compromised. I had decided to purchase it for my granddaughter who had outgrown the various levels of children's bibles and was wanting something more. This version is perfect. Don't misunderstand that it lacks in anyway just because it is understandable for a 9 year old...it is rich with all the Truth and all the verses in a standard KJV translation. It is complete and I recommend it for anyone of any age. I normally stick to the Amplified Version but this has my attention.

I bought this book because my daughter likes it because it is written in every day language. I think it is a great book for someone who would like to read the Bible but can't get through it because it is hard to read or understand. I read this book along with the New International Version of the Bible. When I am tired this book is easy to read and understand, especially the Old Testament. I highly recommend it.

I had this Bible and wanted it again!The only dislike I have is the bookmark was missing. Since I had one before I knew the original had a bookmark that told the story on the bookmark!

This is the best version I have found . Easy to understand .Since it has been written truer to the original manuscripts it gives the reader a greater understanding of the truth.I have purchased this for myself,my 2 daughters,and 2 of our friends. Also, the childrens version for my 2 young grandchildren. And now this one. They are getting hard to find. I was thrilled to find this one. Not a scratch on it, I would say it's MORE than just like new.

I absolutely love this bible and my last one wore out. This bible puts things in easy to understand words which relate to modern day things, sayings and terms without changing the bible. If you have a hard time understanding what's being said in other bibles, then this is the one for you. This is my second one and I will be buying these as gift bibles for a couple people for Christmas. Enjoy!

Easy to understand, its more for a young person or new Christian or someone who's English is second language. Definitely a great resource if nothing else.

A nice modern version of The Bible.

This is an excellent translation with the absence of technical words. Ideal for young people and those for whom English is not a first language.

good value for the money/ MEDIUM SIZE PRINT !

Many of the scriptures are incorrectly translated. I do not recommend this edition and advise prospective buyers to avoid it like the plague.
