Comedy Now! Starring Russell Peters

I gave up after 20 minutes. I should have stopped after 5 minutes but kept hoping the guy would actually say something I found funny. He never did. The entire performance was done at the same theatre supposedly during 2 performances but the camera kept cutting out and then started rolling again when there might be something funny said--which never happened--yet, I wondered about the parts cut out--how bad they must have been since the parts that were left in were really bad. The audience does twitter (a light silly laugh: giggle) often --not a full out loud laugh but they do tweeter a lot. I simply found the guy embarrassingly boring and couldn't even twitter one note. 'Two Concerts, One Ticket' should be called 'I Want My Money Back.....Twice....'

I first heard of Russell Peters when he performed in Singapore and quickly found snippets of his performance on YouTube. I fell in love with his comedy from the first time I saw it. This DVD is no different. He is amazing in his style and candid in his remarks - hallmarks of a great stand-up comedian.Unlike Outsourced which is his most recent DVD, this title contains 2 of his performances (which is great - more bang for the buck). Both performances are fantastic though you will find that some of his jokes are recycled and repackaged in different forms, which is not uncommon for stand-up comedy.That said, Russell Peters is hilarious, enchanting and totally engaging. I really enjoyed watching this DVD and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a hearty laugh and an overall good time (in the comfort of your living room). Well done, Russell!!NOTE: From what I understand, this DVD isn't an "official" release by Russell Peters (unlike Outsourced). This has obviously caused problems, and I would recommend that people get Outsourced. Aside from that, this DVD is still a great watch if you're a fan of Russell Peters. It's a pity that he doesn't reap the rewards of this DVD since the performances are to-die-for!

Made it about 15 minutes in & it didn't get any better. Slow timing & typical Indian prejudice against Pakistan. Rather spend my time somewhere else.

Like his comedy in general but I guess this is from early days. Did not find it entertaining.

This show was obviously taped with commercial breaks, but it's not overly annoying or distracting. It breaks well between joke sets. The show is hilarious, as is all of his stuff I've ever seen. This review isn't all that helpful, but honestly, I was laughing the whole time, and I have nothing bad to say about the show. Isn't that compliment enough? ;)

I love him, but this was just not funny.

If you're an Indian then you'll truly get the full humour behind his comedy. If you're familiar with Indians, then you'll definitely get good laughs. If you don't know anything about Indians, then you better get to know one -- otherwise you won't understand why his humour is totally on the mark!This DVD captures his earlier material where he talks about his parents. This material is just totally hysterical. He's still a bit vulgar but only here and there. His newer DVDs contain far more vulgarity.The fact that he can so accurately capture various ethnic accents is just amazing. Definitely worth your time and money.

Having seen this performer on a couple of You Tube videos, I was determined to find out more. He is very funny, connects with his audience in a way I have not seen at live comedy shows and DVD's of comedy shows. A consummate performer, who loves to involve all races, creeds and personalities. If anyone finds him racist, or insulting - open your eyes to the bigger picture. He is an entertainer, who does just that - entertains and very well indeed.es to the bigger picture. The actual dvd is very funny, great comedy with his famous someone gonna get hurt real bad line, and my personal favourites tapsom bong, you take your dollar and !xobilay .,..All these are in the second half of the dvd which is well worth the money. There are a few forced laughs in the first half, nothing memorable but still worth watching.The service itself was very goodwith the product reaching me in mint condition within a short space of my order.Thanks again Amazon!

Firstly, i am a huge fan of Russell Peters!His jokes are original and throughout the 2 shows you will be laughing hard, must say the comedy now show was outstanding!WARNING, if you are non-asian and are not familiar with certain traits and habits of indians, chinese, etc then you may find a lot of his jokes confusing and/or boring.just saying, this is one for the asians !

Haven't actually watched this item as it was a gift for my parents as they'd caught a few of his shows in Canada & thoroughly enjoyed him as a comedian & performer... So though I can't speak for it myself, it has been an awesome treat & a great laugh out loud belly laugh for my parents...

There are two shows but the Comedy Now is the one that makes this a bargain buy. Great example of observational humour - Russell's stories and impressions will have you in stitches. Would definitely recommend if you want some quality stand up.
