Great biography for early readers
This was the one of the first chapter books my 6 yr old read independently. It was a great fit for his reading level (a step down from the “Who was?” series) and it kept his attention!

Engaging and informative
I'm a huge fan of Hamilton the musical. I got this book as a way to get the kids engaged in the story that I've come to love. This book is so well written and so well illustrated. It follows the narrative approach from Ron Churnow's book and the Lin Manuel Miranda musical, but it's adapted to be a solid nonfiction resource for elementary schoolers. I highly recommend this book.

I learned a lot about this man from the book.
When I was around 4 of age, I was awakened in the middle night and saw two men in 1700s clothes and hairstyles, talking to each other. Is one of them Alexander Hamilton? Who knows?!?

Excellent, informative, well written and fun for kids.
Excellent for kids and adults. Easy, clear sentences, that were easy to understand. Very well written and very interesting. We really enjoyed the time line and map references as well as the little passages about things to think about. I can say enough about this little book. I have a new respect and understanding of Hamilton by reading this quick and easy book with my 8 year old boy.

Great series!
My Level 2 reader loves these books (we have 4-5). The chapters are the perfect length to hold his interest and the drawings capture his attention. We also love the extras along the way and the quiz at the end. Great series!

Biography of Alexander Hamilton for children
I chose to read this book after receiving a free copy from the publisher. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.Alexander Hamilton was one of our Founding Fathers. He was a very smart man who started life poor and was an orphan by the time he was around 10 years old. It’s amazing what he made out of his life, but, sadly, he’s best known for dying in a duel with Aaron Burr, an enemy who had once been his friend. This biography is written for young readers, and it not only teaches about Alexander Hamilton but about some of the history of our country. There are some extras included in The Story of Alexander Hamilton that will encourage children to learn. Some of the words are bold which means they are in the glossary in the back. There are also maps, time lines, and graphics called “Myths vs. Facts.” Occasionally, there’s an arrow with “Jump in the Think Tank” suggestions, which encourage children to express how they might feel in the same situation. There’s a quiz at the end as well as additional Think Tank questions. It’s important to teach youngsters about Alexander Hamilton and other historical figures like him. He proved that no matter what life has dealt you, you can come out on top. This is definitely a book that should be in every child’s library.

Hamilton musical inspired learning more about him
We purchased this book for our grandchildren (9 and 6 years old) who had seen the Hamilton musical on line and we’re enthralled with the production but wanted to better understand the history it portrayed. They loved the book.
