The Great Grammar Book

Bought this for my 5 year old after a very used one I bought at the thrift store passed the point of no return. Glad I bought her a brand new one. It's a lot of fun for her to read and gives a good introduction to basic grammar concepts in a way kids can understand. Not saying she understands everything, but for me it's about introducing the concepts and growing her interest. The flaps and other various pop-up features should probably be used with adult supervision and assistance, but that depends totally on the age and the child.

My students love this book! There are all kinds of activities we do with it.

These pop-up books are a huge hit with my 5 th graders. Every year I have to buy new copies because of how much they are used.

It is a wonderful, fun, colourful learning aid for any child trying to understand the world of grammar.From verbs to adverbs, nouns to conjunctions, and much, much more, the book covers them all in an easy to understand, eye catching, interesting manner.The author used unique techniques and animal characters to keep the children interested. Es un libro muy visual para los niños y con muchos detalles. Tiene solapas donde menos lo esperas, a mis alumnos les va a encantar.

The ideas behind how to teach grammar in an engaging manner is terrific.The book features pop ups and other interactive features which are not durable! Being a beginner grammar book, this should be strong enough to be used repeatedly.Font size is a bit small.Colour and illustrations a little overwhelming.Having said that, definitely a fun way to learn basics of grammar in an engaging and memorable way.

中学で習うような文法が、数え切れない様々な仕掛けで楽しめます！それぞれの仕掛けもフラップをめくると連動して他の部分が動いたりしてとてもおもしろいです。noun,verb,adjective,pluralなどが１，２ページごとに多くの実例があげられ、仕掛けで遊びながら学べます。特にprepositionのページはポップアップが感動物です。ただ、英語圏の子供向けの本なのでゼロから学ぶというよりは、再認識するための本という感じでしょうか。仕掛けが細かいし、紙も比較的薄手なので一人で遊ばせるなら小学校中学年以上でないと壊してしまうかもしれません。星が4つなのは、仕掛けのつくりが多少雑なので、ところどころ微妙にくっついていたり、ずれがあったりするからです。それでも、しばらくはまりそうなくらい楽しい本です！
