Too many issues, but at least it stuck the landing.
I was worried for a minute Vertigo was going to stop publishing these, given the long break between the end of Mike Carey's run and this. But it looks like we're going get all of Hellblazer published. So now the story gets handed over to Denise Mina, who appears to have more experience with gritty crime novels than comics. But she works a lot better some other comics I can mention (coughAmericaChavezcough).John still doesn't want to get back into the magic game, but magic's not really something you can just pull yourself out of. One night out drinking, a man named Chris Cole tells Constantine his sob story. He experiences all the pain and suffering of the people around him, and it's going to kill him unless something is done. John and Chris head to Glasgow to investigate the source of the artificial empathy, but just how big are the players in this last conspiracy?Mina's whole run comprises 13 issues; seven of 'Empathy is the Enemy' going straight into 5 of 'Red Right Hand'. I say straight into in the chronological sense, but between those issues is sandwiched another one-off issue that doesn't fit into the timeline there and was a fairly boring issue anyway. In structure, Mina's arc is quite similar to Delano's old arc 'the Fear Machine' (God, it's been 200 issues and almost three years since that). The story has a few good side characters and an overall decent plot, but 12 issues is way too many. The pacing and never more than average dialogue holds this back. Most of time reading I didn't plan to give this more than three stars. But the last two volume gave it a leg up. First, the conclusion of the story pulls off a minor twist that fits Hellblazer perfectly, Mike Carey comes back for one final issue for the sendoff. So, overall, definitely a good read.

Probably worst plot so far
The physical version of Hellblazer 19 has thicker pages when compared to all the other volumes. The art looks good but the plot left a lot to be desired.

The best non-super hero comic
Hellblazer is one of the best "non-super hero" comics. People who usually dont like super hero comics can read it.
