improved vendor response
I purchased two of these. One does almost everything that the accompanying instructions say it should (except I cannot get the voice to turn off following the instructions). The other keeps getting the counts wrong because it is constantly resetting the day (starts new counts) due to the clock running way off. I changed batteries twice thinking they were the problem, but it still continued to keep time extremely haphazardly. If you purchase one of these, make sure and give it a rigorous trial before 30 days are up or you will not be able to exchange it. Heart Rate Monitors (the vendor) was very disappointing with their following reply: "I do apologize and understand your frustration. The product have (sic) a 30 day warranty on it but unfortunately this is outside of that 30 day time frame. I do suggest calling if you need assistance with the device, but we would not be able to send you a replacement at this time." Vendors (especially those doing business through Amazon) should keep in mind that some products might take more time to determine if they are working correctly. Therefore, two stars: one out of two defective; poor vendor response.Edited review: The product has now been downgraded to one star, more because of the vendor response than the device problem. I followed their instructions to call them for assistance, and after negotiating my way past two promotional offers, I was told to press the star button and a representative would call me back, but that collect call fees would apply. Not exactly my idea of customer service. The exact quote was: "I have gotten an approval from a manager to have a new one sent to you if you are still having issues with the pedometer after we help you reset everything, but at this time we would need to (sic) to give us a call be (sic) between 9 am and 6 pm EST at 1-800-403-8285 do (sic) try to get this process initiated. This is a service that we are extending as a courtesy to you at this time for your trouble, and the best offer that we can make you at this time." For a miserable $11 dollar item (which has already cost me two batteries, and Heart Rate Monitors much more, I am sure) I am now expected to incur collect call fees. No way.3rd Edition:Heart Rate Monitors finally agreed to send me a new unit. Thank goodness. Therefore, 2 good pedometers out of 3 moves the original evaluation up to 3 stars.

Perfect ... except
I bought this pedometer for my boyfriend who is legally blind. I wanted to give him the autonomy to check his number of steps independently throughout the day. He also likes the integrated clock. He uses it all the time. The only problem is - we found this pedometer over estimates the number of steps taken in a day (regardless of stride length). For every 10 steps he takes it counts 15. To fix this problem we figured out what 10,000 steps equals on this pedometer (about 13,300) and he shoots for that daily. If it weren't for this problem I would have given it 5 stars.

but am disappointed that it doesn't talk to you as you walk ...
A fair product for the money, but am disappointed that it doesn't talk to you as you walk a mile, etc. The one I had before told you each mile reached, each step, and # calories burned for that mile. This one does not. I will not buy again as I loved the one that actually "talked as you walked". I thought this one was supposed to do that, but it doesn't.

Works great for my 88-year old mother
I bought this pedometer for my 88-year old mother who has macular degeneration. She likes to go for walks with my sister around a small lake near where they live. She was always trying to guess how far she was walking. Now, she takes the Pedusa wherever she goes. She calls me and tells me how many miles she has walked. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the first pedometer I received did not work, and I had to return it.

Good Enough
This works quite well for the price. If you are obsessive about accuracy, you may want to get something higher-end. My unit once counted 15 steps while it was laying on the table, but +- 1% or so for the day is accurate enough for me. Also, I don't recommend clipping it on your waistband for the day. Mine has ended up in the toilet twice which is my method for testing its waterproof capabilities. It still works.

Voice too faint, not understandable.
As a talking pedometer, it is useless. The sound is not loud enough to hear unless you take it off your belt and put it to your ear. Even when you do that, the synthesized voice (in English, but Chinese? Arabic? Whose accent?) is not understandable. Is it a good pedometer? Don't know...I purchased it so I would not have to remove it from my belt when I wanted to know hiking info, so it certainly failed my expectations.

I purchased this product for a blind friend of mines, i have not gotten feed back from her yet, but it seems easy to use. I will make additional updates as i get information from my friend.

There are better alternatives out there
Definitely a pedometer to avoid. It died in less than a week, which is saying something. While it lived, the talking component was irksome. All you had to do is brush it lightly and it made a sound like something dying, and yet took forever holding down the button to get the info you wanted. The latch for the lid was oddly positioned so it would take a few seconds fumbling to open it, which threw the step count off if you wanted to check the time while walking/running. Definitely do not recommend.
