Uggg....slow...boring...predictable
I had read a couple of Jennifer Bohnet books and liked them so ordered this one. I am not sure what happened but this book was awful. I constantly put it down and even at times closed it with the decision to just throw it away but kept coming back because I am short on things to read right now. I would have been better off to spend my time gardening or something. The story is just so slow and there is absolutely nothing redeeming about it. It is so predictable it is just sad. Characters are okay, nothing special...writing lacks editing here and there and even descriptions of scenery is lacking. I definitely do not recommend this book. Such a waste of my time and money!

BEAUTIFUL STORY OF LOVE AND FAMILY
Two women facing what could be major life changes meet at the annual film festival in Cannes, France. The descriptions are excellent, and I was delighted to note that the problems facing the "little people" at the festival were not glossed over in favor of the exquisite trappings of and for those high up in the movie industry. The characters were well developed, and the story flowed beautifully. This is a book I will definitely read again.

This book was hard to put down!
This book made me forget that I’m now in “shelter-in-place” here in Washington state as it transported me to the Cote d Azur and the Cannes Film Festival. I have had many serendipitous moments in my life and I love that Bohnet’s characters have them too.

Wish there were more books like this.
I enjoyed this story so much, it made me sad that due to the Covid-19 virus, I wasn't able to plan a trip to the French Riviera. It's a beautiful setting and along with the engaging storyline, I was transported. Very enjoyable.

Rendez-Vous in Cannes
Enjoyable read. Could visualize the areas described and the characters too. Also enjoyed the way it all came to an end with hopes of another book to continue their stories.

Deceptive marketing
The story itself is good, however, this book was originally released as Rendezvous in Cannes. It has now been re-released as Rendez-Vous in Cannes. You guessed it, I have it under both spellings of rendezvous! I feel cheated by a good author!

One of the best!
Each time I read one of Jennifer's books I can't believe it could get any better and then I move on to the next one and it does!

Great escapist read but there's much more to this one! - Must read!
Engaging, breezy feel-good novel that gently kissed my heart as the delicious French sunshine would kiss my hair and the sea breeze would caress my cheek.I have never been to France let alone Cannes, but this book had me have an itchy feet with all the glitz and glamour surrounding the Cannes Film Festival. In the midst of all the festivities going on around the festival, the paths of two women with totally different backgrounds cross and merge, and their interactions unfurl a big secret that Anna has kept all to herself for 40 years.First and foremost, I really adored the gorgeous writing that didn’t fail to convey the glittering, whirlwind like atmosphere of the Cannes Film Festival. The hustle and bustle of the city was vividly portrayed, transported me in the middle of action, making me feel as though I were actually there. The allure of this book didn’t end there – beneath the mesmerising glamour that adorns the entire story is a deep, emotionally engaging story of two women confronting their past and moving forward with a new chapter of their lives. I enjoyed following both women’s stories, but what really grabbed my attention and spoke to my heart was Anna’s story. The drama of an unforgettable romance that lasted only ten days yet kept haunting her for almost 40 years which also entails a heartbreaking secret and an indelible sense of guilt. The revelation of her long-kept secret invoked a tidal wave of emotions, too. The overall writing has a fairly quiet undertone yet it delivered Anna’s pain and grief to perfection and almost brought me to tears. As I previously mentioned, I did adore and appreciate Daisy’s strength to kiss goodbye to her previous relationship, but I had this strong compulsion to know how Anna’s story would end up, it was almost irresistible and unputdownable. There are no words or any ways to describe the ending other than to say it’s satisfactory and fitting. I knew where this story would eventually lead us to judging from the cover and the blurb, but this ending, this wrap up went above and beyond my expectations. It’s beautiful, emotional, and simply heart-tugging and gripping. This book proved to have so much more than just romance but pack a breathtakingly beautiful story of family and reconciliation with the past. The sense of happiness and appreciation washed over me when I reached the last line. The sound of “Cannes” may come across all festive, glitz and glamour, but this book has much more depth than you might think. Pick up this book and let this wonderful story get you all wrapped up. This book doesn’t disappoint!

A "secret" so obvious you will feel let down.
I'm very much in the minority here as I did not enjoy this and gave up after 100 pages or so. This sort of book seldom confounds the reader they are about people and their lives, the idea being that you grow to care about them. Sadly I formed no such attachment to any of the characters and when Anna's secret is revealed you will be left wondering why it was given such weight. It is all the more disappointing at this is a revised republication so presumably it is an "improvement". Sorry not for me.

An easy, delightful read
I am reading Jennifer's books out of publishing order. This story involves two unrelated women. Anna works in the film industry. Her first, and only, visit to the Cannes Film Festival was in the 60s when she worked as a runner. Now, a film she was involved with is to be shown at the festival and she needs to revisit her past. Single all her life she has met a wonderful man who she wants to spend the rest of her life with. She hires a villa owned by an English family who live in Cannes.Daisy is a fledgeling journalist who is assigned the Cannes Film Festival after another journalist has an accident. Luckily she can stay with her sister, Poppy, who lives in Cannes.Jennifer brings to life the atmosphere of the Cannes festival and the delights of the Cote d'Azur. The story twists and turns but does not surprise.

A perfect escape
Set in a place we can only dream about. Cannes with its surreal world of glamour and famous film stars. Perfect to escape to and image it all. Nice ordinary people as well with a very sad and moving story moving through.

Absolutely enjoyable
I have read a few of Jennifer's books and this one was as delightful as the others. The characters are so real story lines believable. I cannot put her books down they flow so well. So I have to leave a whole day free as I know once I start nothing else gets done.
