Beautiful collection of healthy recipes for those of us who love nutritious food of all varieties.
If you're like me, you don't "read" a cookbook -- you use it. And I will use this one frequently. One quick glance at the Table of Contents shows just how thorough and well organized this book is. In a hurry? Most recipes have adjacent photos that immediately draw you in when flipping through the pages. The photography is amazing. The recipes themselves are clear and easy to follow. I immediately made the energy bars, which were a huge hit. Can't wait to try dozens more. I especially love the suggestions and suggested uses that accompany many recipes. Having a vegan and a vegetarian in our increasingly health-conscious household, this will be a go-to resource for years to come. Additional bonus: the print is nice and large, allowing me to leave my reading glasses out of the kitchen. I truly appreciate that! This is a wonderful cookbook to add to your collection or give as a gift to another food lover.

Excellent Cookbook!
Full disclosure, I am friends with both of the authors of this cookbook and served as a recipe tester for some of the recipes. With that said, I eagerly awaited the publication of this book for over a year because of how much faith I have in these two ladies and because of how impressed I was with the recipes I tested. Sustainable Kitchen has not disappointed! I have already tried several of the recipes, even though I only received the book a month ago, and my whole family has enjoyed them, including my 5-year-old daughter and my husband who generally prefers meat in his meals. The recipes are simple enough to be achievable for someone like me, who is fairly new to vegetarian cooking. And to top it off, the photography is stunning.

More than a cookbook
I rave about this book. The recipes are very achievable and it includes additional insight on sustainable living. The author considers her family “flexitarians”; though all but one of the recipes are vegetarian if not vegan, so it is refreshing to see a neutral book that leans far more towards plant based but doesn’t discourage those who are slowly decreasing or giving up their meat intake. She also has a section on meal prep and composting. I just love this book!

So much more than a cookbook
I've purchased several vegetation cookbooks over the years but this one is by far the best. I've made many of the recipes and they do not disappoint! Even my husband who loves meat told me I could make the sweet potato enchiladas and pumpkin pasta again! I bought it for the recipes but was not expecting to learn so much about the environment and how the food we eat affects it. It was eye-opening on how much resources are wasted on maintaining an animal based diet. We will definitely continue to incorporate more and more vegetarian meals into our lifestyle! For anyone who wants to learn more about healthy, sustainable eating and loves good food this cookbook is for you!

Terrific Cookbook!
This cookbook contains all you need to know about making great meals for your self and family that are simple, healthy, flavorful and practical. Other features include a section on understanding nutrition, canning techniques, and how to stock your kitchen with tools and foods that are sustainable. Full color photographs, artwork and inspiring quotes support the mission of this book to provide a "commitment to healthy eating, a deep concern for our planet and a longing for spiritual connection". Many of the recipes can serve as a launching point for creating your own versions of the recipes. Recipes are written simply. Great diversity of meals to make!

Companion for Sustainable Food Decisions
As someone who enjoys preparing vegetarian food, I thought I knew a lot about sustainable food choices and cooking. This cookbook opened my eyes to ways I could improve my food choices, from reducing (or eliminating) plastic packaging to making my own sauces that I would otherwise buy in jars, cans, or other single-use containers. My son begs to make the energy balls from the book, and has experimented with other kid-friendly recipes (carrot top pesto!). The photography is beautiful, making it a perfect gift for friends who embrace sustainability or that relative you are trying to encourage to eat plant-based protein.

Simple, Nutritious, and DELICIOUS!
Content:Finding time and energy to make healthy meals with 3 small children in the house can be daunting, but this book gives fantastic inspiration for daily cooking. As we flipped through the pages, we kept saying "Oh, we already have all these ingredients. That's easy, we can make that." We feel great knowing we're feeding ourselves and our kids healthy, whole, and delicious food.Design:This book is flat-out beautiful. The images are gorgeous and the layout is clean and easy to follow. Everything about this book is appetizing!

Delicious, nutritious, flexible and beautiful!
This cookbook contains everything you need to nourish your body and soul year round. The simple, delicious and flexible recipes inspire one to be creative in the kitchen, as well as to select seasonal options for each recipe. Love the tips on reducing waste as well as the personal stories. The gorgeous photographs really invite one to see food as artistic all the while reminding you that eating beautifully can enrich both you and the earth. Not a better plant based cookbook out there!
