1000 Magic The Gathering MTG Rares Collection All Rare Lot

I see a lot of reviews for this that go on about how there aren't any good cards, it was a waste of money, etc. My thought is those reviews are from people who were expecting to pull Elesh Norn or some modern equivalent of Black Lotus.This is a box of bulk rares, end of story.Contents: Roughly 1000 low end rares, including legendary creatures and the occasional planewalker. Duplication was very light, much lighter than I expected, and the cards were in generally good shape; I didn't notice any in bad condition. I ordered two boxes, and I don't think I got more than ten or so copies of any one card, better than most of the "bulk" type lots I've ordered in the past. Cards range over every color and every type, and most of mine were from the past five or so years.Value: This is not the sort of thing you buy hoping to pull high value cards. I didn't check prices on all of them, but of the couple dozen that caught my eye the most valuable would have cost me about $0.80 online, and most of the rest I checked were in the 0.20 to 0.35 range. There may be a couple worth a lot more like in that other review, but I haven't spotted any. Most will be worth less. For my purposes, this is fine. For 1000 bulk rares, this is a pretty good price.Use: I play Magic for fun; I have bills to pay, so I can't afford to keep up with the latest "I win" cards or combos. I'll never enter any competitions. Nevertheless, the game is a lot of fun, deckbuilding is a lot of fun, and if you've already got a "bulk" type collection of MTG cards, this is a good way to round out your decks with stronger cards without breaking the bank. I particularly enjoy building decks around the different mechanics and themes you find in the game, and this is very good for that. You won't be winning tournaments, but it's great for games with friends.

Most of the cards are not usable due to the high mana cost and multiple colors needed to cast. Total waste of money.

It’s always a crap shoot with these bull buys, but this one kind of shocked me. At 1000 cards for $130 you want an average price of $0.13 - so you don’t expect too many bombs. But in my first hundred cards I pulled SEVERAL were worth more than a dollar and three were over $10. The average was $0.83 - so if I find a similar average for the next 900 that’s &800+ worth of cards. I have a feeling that’s unlikely but if the rest of the cards are just $0.09 a piece (kind of the floor for MTG rares) then I’ll get more than my money’s worth. Still probably more logical to get just the singles you need - but if you’re a collector, into selling cards or just looking to build a cube or something this is very much worth it. Cards are almost all NM conditions no scuffs or marks and the box is sturdy and solid. It’s gonna be hard for me to resist buying this again…

Very satisfied

I was not expecting great cards. Just some bulk stuff to throw into casual commander decks. Unfortunately, commander is a singleton format and I don’t need twenty copies of fifty cards.This is actually just 50 rares duplicated into 1,000 “assorted” cards.If you want play sets of bulk rares for you and your entire family / LGS then go nuts. Otherwise; please do not buy this. It was impulsive and wasteful. Learn from my mistakes.
