Knits for Boys: 27 Patterns for Little Men + Grow-with-Me Tips & Tricks

I'm so glad I bought this book
I'm a passionate knitter as well as a grandma to young grandsons. "Knits for Boys" caught my eye because, in my estimation, it's difficult to find patterns for boys that are both attractive and technically interesting to knit. These designs fit the bill. In addition, boys are sure to like the projects, which are definitely boy-friendly! My oldest grandson looked through the book with me, and quickly chose several designs for his "wish list". Several specifics about the book that I appreciate include: 1) the 'grow-with-me' tips; 2) the detailed and understandable instructions; and 3) the photographs - in addition to pictures which use models, each project includes a photo of just the item so that the shape and construction details are clearly visible. The photos throughout enhance the instructions. I'm sure this book will become my favorite source for grandson knitting.

Boyish But Not Boring HandKnits For The Frustrated Knitting Mama
These patterns are GREAT! Practical, colorful, fun. Boyish but not boring. Best of all, written by a real-world knitter-for-boys, the section at the front about ‘grow-with-me’ knitting will make the difference to me being indecisive or taking the plunge to knit something for my rapidly-sprouting boys. The book itself is beautifully produced with full-bleed pictures and clear, spacious, readable text. The pages have a matte finish, for low glare under knitting lights. It has a soft cover and the pages fall open and lie flat (hooray!).Having knitted from Tot Toppers patterns before, I know the instructions are always thorough and straightforward. And, added bonus, getting to watch the author's sons grow up, in the photos, is a cuteness-explosion!

Great patterns
I love the patterns in this book. They are classic and I can see using this book for many years to make beautiful sweaters. There is a great section in this book that explains knitting for growing children so that you can get the longest wear out of the knitted items you've made.

Three Stars
Not particularly useable, but then, I prefer classic styles

Excellent and varied designs
This book is easy to follow and the sweaters look as though young boys would like to wear them. They are challenging enough that they will hold my interest. The styles and designs are current and I can see my grandson wearing them. He has already picked out six of them. Now comes the fun part of choosing appropriate yarn and colour and which one do I knit first.

Lots of ideas, but everything is "in the round". A little variety would be nice.
See the headline.

Old fashioned patterns
The patterns are very old fashioned. No young boy would want to wear most of them

Classy
It's a gift for my mother and I shouldn't be judging a book by it's cover I will put my neck out and say it looks like impressive work.
