Run-Through Detangling Primer

Incredible. This primer took my fine hair from haystack status to smooth and flowing in one day. It doesn't weigh my hair down (I don't put it on my roots, just the pony tail). I am so glad Oribe lowered the price of this product. My stylist uses it, but I have hesitated to buy it in the past because of the cost. The scent isn't as strong as some of the other Oribe products which do bother me. You simply must try this if you have been plagued with uncombable haystack hair and your hair is fine like mine.

Admittedly I had been suffering from major depression and my 10-year-old daughter has 3B/3C textured hair. I am the only one who does her hair, especially during the pandemic. But, I hadn't even really been doing my own. I am very good at doing hair, but I just lost the will to do anything, even hair. One day I looked at my daughter's hair and felt really bad that I had been not only neglecting mine, but hers. I've started getting better, so I searched high and low for a product that would detangle my daughter's matted hair. I found an article on Teen Vogue that mentioned this was the best, but it was pricey. After reading through that article, none of the other recommendations seemed to fit the bill for heavy-duty detangling. So even though I wasn't sure about it for our hair (especially because of the how to use video on this page) I took the plunge on this one and bought the mini-size to test it out. About an hour after I got it in the mail, I started on my daughter's hair. It practically MELTED her tangles. It softened up and eased the matting near her scalp enough to where with careful work, I managed to get all the matting out IN LESS THAN AN HOUR and there was virtually no hair loss! We were able to see how much growth she has gotten too! I did use the entire small bottle for her hair. Now we are just waiting for a hair treatment to finish so I can wash and condition her hair and put it in a simple style. I think this would even work on my 4A/4B textured hair! I won't let this happen to her hair again, but I will be buying the larger size now for future use on everyday tangles. It will make your life so much easier. I couldn't recommend this product enough!

This my first time trying anything from Oribe. For context, I have 2C texture and my hair is relaxed. As I relax every 16 weeks it is vital that I have a product that can detangle my hair without breaking it (relaxing can stripe your hair of moisture) and maintain the health of my hair from harsh chemical use. The mist sprays fine and evenly all over. I have not experienced any clogging. I am able to immediately comb through any tangles and snarls. My on caveat and the reason for four stars not five, is the smell. I noticed a subtle eggy odor from the product while spraying. It isn't entirely unpleasant as it disperses quickly however once I dry and curl my hair, the smell returns. It's almost as if someone put perfumed eggs in my hair. It is the only way I can describe it. Luckily Moroccan hair oil does help to mask that smell. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this smell, but it isn't enough that would stop me from using the product or returning it, but I might decide not to repurchase.

I've been using this for years. Since way back when it was $75 and not $40 ish. I absolutely loved it and used it all of my kids. (3 girls and a boy all with different hair types.) It smelled so nice and worked well on all of us. Until the last few bottles I got. (The last few months of 2024.) They changed the scent. What was once a very light a pleasant scent is now so overpowering like old lady perfume. I sprayed one spray on my oldest daughter and both of us winced. I'll never ever understand why a brand changes something that already sells so well. Why make a light pleasant scent so overpowering? I have removed my 5 star reviews from Amazon and have low left one stars. There is no reason to do this especially when in this day and age most people do not like overpowering or perfume scents. I cant express my disappointment enough. I absolutely loved this product and was a loyal customer for so so long.

It works well. I like the smell although it could be a little stronger. The mist is fine so it will probably last a while. Helped untangle my very wavy hair.

Omg so glad I discovered this product! The most amazing detangler just a tiny squirrel n my hair feels like silk, the cuticle of my hair feels perfect. Worth every penny. Highly recommend. Alexandra

I am a hair product junkie and have used many brands. This product was "love at first use" - it goes on light and detangles your hair, leaving it soft but not weight down and no residue. I have long, blonde processed hair and need to use a quality detangler/primer to avoid breakage. Totally worth the money!

I have long fine hair that gets extremely knotty, I have tried many many products for detangling and this is the best by far. You need to make sure you don’t use too much otherwise it leaves a residue and doesn’t work as well, for me a couple of sprays each side is the right amount.
