There are several companies that manufacture these band looming sets, but Rainbow Loom is the best, in my experience. I have tried several different sets but this set comes complete with everything you need to get started in this craft. Although this art might not be as popular as it was about 6 yrs ago, you know how fads work, they go in and out but looming bracelets with these bands (and other things) is actually really fun, and can be somewhat challenging depending on your skill level with looming bands. It's an easy craft to learn and I feel like any kid over 8 would love this set. Most of the other brands have bands that are similar to the Rainbow Loom brand, and most of them work just fine, the quality of brands with the actual Rainbow Loom set and the bands from their website, tend to be a bit more sturdy, however using replacement bands from another company is perfectly okay. What you won't find from another company is the higher quality loom like the one you get with the Rainbow Loom and with this particular set, unlike their first release, this loom is completely adjustable and when you get further advanced, you can go to their website and order additional looms to make the more complex bracelets. I will say, that while nothing really negative can be said about this set, on one of my sets, one of my looms actually broke on the end when I had to attach it to the other end of another loom to make a really tight, intricate bracelet but the loom itself, still sturdy and still well made and functional for normal use. This set is highly giftable and I have purchased 2 additional sets to this so that I can work on the more intricate bracelets. There are tons of tutorials on YT to help get anyone started, lots of content creators who have done some amazing, easy to follow instructional videos and designs. I absolutely recommend this set for anyone above the age of 8 and I only say 8 because of the level of frustration that might be involved at times and the amount of patience you have to have at times. My tween-ager recently got into this and absolutely loved it! Decent quality and variety. Would buy again, good for beginners.

I did this as a child and now my kids do it but with the help of this plastic loom piece. I used my fingers, but they said this was is much easier! It comes with tons of rubber bands and the ease of using this is perfect for my 5 and 7 year old!

We love this kit. My children appreciate the organizational slots, as do I.It's easy to travel with and can hold quite a bit of rubberbands.

My 10 year old daughter recently showed interest in rubber band weaving. I bought her a simple kit-but some of the tools included were flimsy-then she started watching YouTube videos and discovered these rubber bands could turn in to adorable little animals-if you have a loom. Me being a bit of an arts and crafts fanatic jumped in and quickly bought this second kit that included a metal crochet hook and the loom. Once it arrived my daughter tried to make the ‘easy’ rubber band loom fish-from a video she had seen. Fast forward 20 minutes later 30 seconds in to the instructions she got stuck. I tried the move they were showing but couldn’t figure it out. Now the loom sits-unused and we’ve got tons of rubber bands that I’m still finding randomly while vacuuming. I wish this kit came with an instruction book with clear step by step pictures so that you wouldn’t have to continually try and pause a YouTube video that still doesn’t provide a clear image of what to do next.
