Great brake addition for my setup
I installed on an enclosed trailer that did NOT have brakes installed from factory. Was a pretty direct replacement without big problems or headaches. As others have stated the brake plate nuts are NOT included. For mine I was only able to find stainless in the 7/16 fine thread “pretty sure that was size”Check videos on YouTube and follow them to avoid problems.Mine was missing a bearing, seal, cap, lug nut hardware pack, company was pretty quick about getting me the replacement. In the end so far I’d rate this brake setup a solid 4.5 not quite 5 but more than 4.Check your hardware first thing, maybe do unboxing video “like I did” make sure you have the bolts and washers for the plate mounting to the axle.I ordered this and the 7’ 7 pin connector with junction box and install was pretty straightforward.Certainly night and day difference in the towing experience with brakes now.

absolutely perfect
It works great. The video was very helpful, and it made the installation easy.

Easy replacement
These were a direct fit replacement for my Grey Wolf RV. The quality looks good and they are similar to what was oem. So far thwy work great!

Brakes fit and work great also best deal I found
Great product, I bought this set to add breaks to the second axel on my 20ft carhauler. The trailer stops so much better when dragging my jeep down the highway. Some things you need to know before buying this product, to add breaks to a axel it must have a backing plate mounting bracket (the backingplate holds the shoes, springs, and the magnet) (mounting bracket is a square plate with four holes welded behind the spindle on the axel). The hubs come with the bearing races already pressed in so you won't need a bearing race driver or have to take them somewhere to get them pressed in. This set does NOT come with the nuts or washers needed to mound the backing plate to the axel (8 7/16x20 nuts, 8 lock washers, and 8 plain washers).

Good value and Quality
Only reason for 4 not 5 star is the lack of the 7/16-20 nuts needed to mount the brake assembly to the axle. A very inexpensive add to this kit that would be worthwhile. I had a bit of adventure with a different seller and that kept sending the wrong 7/16 nuts. Would have been unnecessary if the kit included them.

Exact fit
There were the exact original style and model of my original brakes. Great value for the cost. Very easy to install.

Missing necessary hardware
They include everything in the pictures and only that! The most necessary components are not there. The 4 lugs that hold the brake assembly to the mounting plate on the axle! So I had to drive to 4 stores on a Sunday night to get the 16 of the 7/16"-20 lug nut that thread on the the stud that install in the brake mechanism. Product is USELESS if you can't bolt it to the axle. The only way you would have those nuts on hand is if you were replacing an existing brake assembly and the bolt were the same. If you upgrading from idle bearings then you don't have anything and would have no way to determine what thread pitch you need.I also had to reuse my axle nut, bearing washer, and cotter pin.Oh but they include 5 new lug nuts for the wheel studs????Customer service is uselessIf I had discovered these shortcomings within the return window they would be getting their crap back and Amazon would be getting an ear full.

Great for Small Trailers
What’s in the box:Two brake units assemblies (LH and RH) - you have to figure out which is which. All the bearings (ungreased) So make sure you have some on hand for this purpose. All axle seals. No instructions. But I suppose if you’re going to do this on your trailer, you have an idea of what to do, or can figure it out fairly quickly - as was the case for me. I used some of the reviews of this product, but there are good sites on the internet that describe what to do to install and adjust. You do have to grease the bearings - don’t forget. You will have to go to the hardware store for the attachment nuts to the flange on the axle. This was mentioned a couple of times in the reviews and it is true. It’s a little unusual in size at 7/16”-20. So it took me a while to find them at the store and ended up with Grade 8 nuts, which is ok - but pricey little buggers as you’ll need eight of them. But frankly, I would rather have them in the box, than have to spend a couple of hours going to the hardware store and look for them. I would pay the extra $20, when you factor everything, on the cost of this product.I had already taken off the 4-way plug and installed a 7-way plug instead on the trailer, so wiring was pretty easy, although it would be nice to have a plastic harness sleeve in there for a nice installation - I spent the extra $20 for this purpose. Again, I would pay the extra for the whole package. So why did I put 3 stars? Value is fantastic at half the price of others. Ease of installation - no problem, although I had to buy the nuts that should have been in the package. There was no instructions. It would have been nice to have a plastic harness sleeve, but oh well…The reason is performance. I would not put these on a heavy duty trailer. It took a while to adjust them, which is the nature of the beast, but I think I have them dialed in, and while they will do the work in stabilizing the trailer if it starts to sway back and forth on the road, they are significantly less effective then what I have on my other trailer. So in case the trailer disconnects from the tow vehicle, for whatever reason, the emergency brake on the trailer may take a little longer to stop the trailer, which could lead to higher chances of it going off-road, or whatever. For my application, yes I would buy them again, but if the competitor has everything in the box, it might be worth paying the extra, especially if you want more braking power. I would pay extra.
