First off, three books in one!I love these stories. The editing could be a bit better in a few places but this in no way detracts from the tales herein.What you get from Brandish are epic and well woven tales of heroes doing mighty deeds, sacrifice in the name of the greater good, great struggles between good and evil, and of love and honor. The world of Alfheim is more realized with every chapter and by the end the universe is as intriguing as Middle Earth. But more than a great fantasy world and heroic deeds, Brandish calls forth his insight into the best of humanity, the greatness that everyone can achieve and the pure heart of what makes life worth fighting for.I eagerly await the next book!

If you’re looking for a new book to binge. If you’re tired of feeling guilty about watching Netflix. If you want a story that will take you through the ups and downs of a world so much like normal fantasy, yet one of a kind. Then this is for you. Be warned though, you buy this and you start reading it...settle in to get comfy because it’s hard to put down.

My wife and I have been reading this. Absolutely love the writing style and unique story telling. This is a great time, and for three novels in one it’s a steal for your money. It also has amazing illustrations, great book. Really worth a read!

The entire series reads like you're being told a story around a campfire. The world is wondrous and magical, and would be right at home with the likes of Miyazaki's Spirited Away or Nausicaa and the Valley of the Wind. It's classic hard-boiled fantasy that doesn't chew the fat, pontificate, or offer lengthy expositions. It gets right to the heart of matters, and it doesn't pull punches with its characters.It is both a wonderful departure from modern fantasy story-telling while at the same time filled to the brim with timeless fantasy tropes.

Gilhelm has a mastery of telling tales with humor, beauty and suspense. You feel like you're right there in the story. He conveys complex emotion through his tales with characters saying or doing simple things. It's hard to put this book down! The drawings of characters are fun and many may match your own imagination of characters. Looking forward to other works by Gilhelm!
