A Cute Short Read
This was a cute short mystery, set in the world of The Victorian San Francisco Mysteries, featuring many of the characters from the full-length novels, including Dandy the Boston Terrier. I love these little shorts, they are great companions to the full-length novels, all though these are relatively short in comparison, they are nevertheless full of depth, and often help to provide further insight into the characters who inhabit Annie's boardinghouse. Including the main character herself, at times. A light, but fun and cute read that is just as well-written and worth reading in addition to the full-length books in this series.

Scary and surprising in the end.
I love these Victorian mysteries. I love to learn about what things were like for the people who lived in that time period. I enjoy all of the characters in M. Louisa Locke’s stories and feel like I’m visiting with old friends every time I read one. This one had it’s share of plenty of suspense, as always, with a surprise twist at the end. Definitely a great read.

A "slice of life" tale.Everyday life in the late 19th century was very different from ours in the early 21st. Yet many of the things which worry people remain unchanged.Ms. Locke's short story managed to surprise me while adding valable back story details about the characters.

A very renter story
I was sorry when this delightful story ended. It was the pleasant lift that is needed at this time. It was interesting catching up with old friends such as the valiant Dandy. I look forward to further adventures with both old friends and new.

Cute short story
This is a simple little story that is interesting if you have followed the Louisa Locke series on the San Francisco Mysteries. It is short and doesn't have a whole lot of plot but it's a nice distraction for an afternoon's fun.

Fun little short story
These short stories set in the same world - and with the same characters - as the novels are fun. This one is lighter than most, but brings in a nice amount of background - and the little terrier Dandy.
