Blood+, Vol. 5

A really good volume to the short series of Blood+ If you haven't read the manga yet I suggest it. It's not as action packed as the anime, but it's still rather good.

I love this storyline. I wish I could afford to buy part two of the series. After the first half of the anime the stry really stars developing.

Chiropterans are starting to take over the world and Saya's finally tapped into her killing nature. The 5 volume series culminates to a final showdown between the twins at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Saya's desperate to end the Chiropteran reign once and for all, risking her life and her friends. Everyone who loves Saya gives it their best to help end this terror.Be it the manga or the anime, this ending remains really powerful. Staying true to the Japanese norm, the ending is bittersweet. I felt really sorry for both Saya and Diva. They were both capable of being happy normal girls (well, maybe not quite normal, but their humanity could be intact) but greed and selfishness outside of their control lead them on their respective paths.There are beautiful color illustrations at the beginning of the manga. One in particular makes you think "what if" as it has everybody together (good guys and bad guys) living happily and harmoniously.I strongly recommend this series. If you don't want to spend time watching the 50 episode anime, then this 5 volume manga hits the main points nicely. There are *huge* plot differences, but I think I prefer how it turned out in the manga anyway.

Blood+, Vol. 5 is the last and final part of Katsura's Blood+ manga series. The final confrontation between Diva and Saya is on the horizon and the stakes are getting huge for both side. A truly exciting and thrilling conclusion to a great manga series. Highly recommended indeed. 5/5.

This is the last volume for the Blood+ series (although there is a mini-prequel - Blood+ Adagio just in case you want to read more of Saya)Plenty of action within this volume but also you see the story come together, if you cry easily at books then you might shed a tear or two mid-volume...

This is a really good conclusion to the Blood+ story line. The detail in the drawings is top quality and it finished the saga of perfectly.
